Is there any point in voting Green?

That's it really, can you resolve an argument between DP and I. Do you think that there can be such a thing as 'a wasted vote'?

only if you want to be taxed to the eyeballs, be forced to cycle to work, and be priced off the roads. If you are a fan of slop bins in your kitchen, and the sight of multi-coloured bins outside your property, if you like wearing hair shirts in the mistaken belief that you are saving the planet, and you think that flushing your loo wastes valuable resources, then by all means go ahead.

with the Greens there is no such thing as waste. They will religiously recycle your vote and send it to you as a council tax bill to ensure you reduce your carbon footprint.

Claig - I already AM taxed to the eyeballs, have a slop bin in my kitchen and multi-coloured bins outside my house and am thinking of putting a hippo thing in my lav to cut down unnecessary water wastage.

It didn't occur to me to vote Green until your helpful post. Now I realise I probably should.

Are you a member of the party? I hope they know you are canvasing for them cause you are doing a marvellous job. Keep up the good work.

damn, you rumbled me, do keep it quiet though please. We welcome your vote and are glad you want to help us reduce your standard of living.

I must admit that I have neglected to keep up with all the planet-saving hair-brain schemes of my comrades, what is this hippo thing of which you speak? Is it for real?

claig · 27/04/2010 01:27

Goodness me it's real

you couldn't make it up

WW - go ahead - ignore comments about "wasted votes" because in the long run, your choice of Green will be noted, even if some other candidate happens to get in.

Also, if yours is a "swing seat" and you don't vote, and someone else gets in by 1 vote, you'd kick yourself, afterwards, for not having made your mark.
