No kidding.

Someone has just tweeted one of the questions from the yougov poll.

policywonk · 22/04/2010 22:51

Gosh, that is quite shocking isn't it?

lol 'Everything about the LibDems scares me'

ZephirineDrouhin · 22/04/2010 22:53

yes I thought that was a particularly nice touch.

theyoungvisiter · 22/04/2010 22:57

PW - I admit, I had to hide behind the sofa during the debate. I missed almost everything about immigration because I had my hands over my ears waiting for DH to tell me when the cameras were off Nick Clegg.

I've only just stopped shaking.

Ok, facetiousness over that is absolutely disgusting! But a weird backhanded compliment to the lib dems that they are suddenly so worth smearing.

Tashtodd · 22/04/2010 23:35

There's only one poll that matters - May 6th. I wouldn't get too exercised about the rest

theyoungvisiter · 23/04/2010 08:05

Tash I think that's a bit simplistic.

The outcomes of polls before then will influence party donors, the press position, and also how people decide to vote.

All of has an influence on the outcome on May 6th.

GrendelsMum · 23/04/2010 08:23

That really is shocking. Very good example for teaching students how to manipulate polls, and how to manipulate people using polls, though.

crystal123 · 23/04/2010 08:27

Yeah, right, the ones that don't agree with you!

AvadaKedavra · 23/04/2010 08:35

BBC does a good poll on a Sunday - the Poll of Polls, merging them all together. Worth looking out for although the only poll worth bothering about really is the one on 6th May!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/04/2010 08:39

Those are pretty shocking!!

Those Lib Dems - truly terrifying

Ivykaty44 · 23/04/2010 08:47

But the poll will not really work, due to not taking into account how many people are living int he consitencey you live in and how they will vote...

ShadeofViolet · 23/04/2010 09:00

I think Nick Clegg should be a Dr Who baddie, he is made for the part for isnt he

ZephirineDrouhin · 23/04/2010 09:31

More on YouGov

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 23/04/2010 09:38

Ever since the poll saying 49% would vote LD 'if they thought they could win', the right-wing/Murdoch papers have been desperately stomping on every poll result that shows the Lib Dems, er, could win.

For example, did you see this poll? (had to save as image to keep formatting)

Not if you read the Murdoch press...

"Sun journalists said YouGov's extensive daily poll always contained too many findings to publish" Really? It doesn't seem that long... seems a shame to pay for this poll and not publish it. Unless you didn't like the results, of course.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 23/04/2010 09:39

X-post with ZD and her faster typing!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/04/2010 10:39

This thread is a real eye opener!

JustineMumsnet · 23/04/2010 10:53

Please please do our fourth election poll if you haven't already. Am on Any Questions tonight and will no doubt be asked how Mumsnetters think so would love our poll sample to be as representative as possible!
(plus you might win a voucher [desperate])
Thanks

policywonk · 23/04/2010 11:21

Not as bad as it sounds - Labour keeps it pretty quiet for fear of scaring the Daily Mailers
