Tory Election Survey

Has anyone else had the Tory election survey sent to them?

We got one in the post fair enough but on looking at it and talking to friends living locally we all realised that the survey has been specifically addressed to our DHs not Mr & Mrs but only to the husbands (all of us are on the electoral register).

WTF? Do the Tories think my DH answers for me? Are the Tories only interested in what the "man of the house" thinks? Do the Tories think wives vote the same as their DHs?

I have had one - addressed to me, but I am not married, so not sure.

Sorry, I appear to have killed your thread! Bump for you.

We have not had one, it is quite a safe assumption that everyone round here votes tory.

crawk - how interesting - seems bizarre, but I would have thought that they would be sending you one each. Very odd to just send to one member of the household alone. Assume you're both on the electoral register?

(If you're not on the register and your DH is then not odd at all that only your DH gets one...)

sorry should have re read your message and see that you are on electoral register. would be interested to know if the DWs also get a survey too next week - rather telling, and annoying, if not... keep us posted!

also (sorry for complete thread hijack!) see this thread re Labour doing the same thing ...

I know the answer to this

The first leaflet/survey is sent to the first voter on the electoral register for your property (when most people fill out the form they tend to put DH first!)...

Subsequent letters/leaflets will usually be addressed to the second on the list.

Its all to do with election expenses and some boring electoral commission rules.
