Anyone fancy being filmed for ITV 6pm news today (March 15th) talking about the "Mumsnet election"? Sorry, but will need to be London based.

ITV news are looking for three mums who could be filmed in London this afternoon for a piece on tonight's 6pm news. They want them to talk about how they feel about politicians focussing on the mums' vote.

As is often the case with these things it's all a bit last minute hence the need for London-based folks. They apologise for this.

They would be happy to come to you - especially if you could get two or three folks together - or they're happy to film you at Mumsnet Towers in Kentish Town, if you fancy popping in here.

We did warn them that mumsnetters lived busy lives and might not be able to drop everything, but said we could ask...

I would make a point about the media's response to 'The Mumsnet Election' i.e. Janet Street-Porter calling us a bunch of middle class Boden-wearing yummy mummies, other reports state we are bullies and vile and yet more, such as The Times, said that "time and time again" we only seem to ask politicians about biscuits.

It says a lot when the media cannot report on the very direct and intelligent questioning of politicians by Mumsnetters - they have to put us in our place by portraying as as organic cupcake baking housewives.

But I'm not free this afternoon and I don't live in London.

I am feeling arsey...Sorry assertive. Unfortunately, my children are feeling sick.

Actually I am getting more and more uncomfortable with the whole media interest and mumsnet.

Kind of puts me off being here.

It'll die down coffee, it's only because of election fever.

I went through a stage of resenting it, and then thinking that it might be a good thing. Because it shows the world that mothers are intelligent, opinionated people who can actually talk about something other than nappies.

The media have betrayed us of late, if this is reported right, it's our chance to show them that our opinions DO matter and we are not the vipers we are made out to be. We are not airheads who can only ask about biscuits.

Somebody needs to explain the irony and allegory of biscuits. Only dim media twonks would assume we have a superficially literal interest in biscuit dunking choice.

Somebody needs to illustrate why, for example, the netmums lot aren't the voters that count and mumsnetters are.

If it's live I think three of you should gang up and once on air refuse to talk about anything other than kittens and knitting patterns.

News Interviewer: "So why do you think the mumsnet vote counts so much mumsnetter A?"
