Some good news to start the week!
The mainstream media might be quiet about it, but the numbers donโ€™t lie: Reform UK just lost SIX by-elections in a single week.

Their momentum is officially hitting a wall. On Thursday, they failed to win across the UK and even lost the incumbent seats they were supposed to defend:

  • Amble Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Gained by Labour)
  • Hirst Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Reclaimed by Labour)
  • Claremont Ward (Blackpool) โ€” LOST (Held by Labour)
  • Long Whatton & Diseworth Ward (NW Leicestershire) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives)
  • Wick & East Caithness Ward (Highland) โ€” LOST (Stormed by Lib Dems)
  • Forth & Endrick Ward (Stirling) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives) about:blank 1, 2]

The right-wing vote is splitting down the middle, squeezing them out in low-turnout battles. Proof that real, local communities are seeing through the rhetoric.

Keep it up lads! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Your naivety is truly terrifying ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I think that's standard naivety for a Reform voter. Farage has been one of Putin's puppets for years now. He's a traitor.

EEexpat · 13/10/2026 13:42

@TooBigForMyBoots

I voted Labour in 2024.

TooBigForMyBoots · 13/10/2026 14:01

That may be so but you've repeatedly spoken of your plan to vote Reform since then @EEexpat.

If the next general election is not until 2029, I don't think I will vote for anyone.

In 2024, Reform received about 4.2 million votes. How were you able to identify each of them to enable you to make the statement

Ever since the referendum held 23 June 2016, remain have had the view that they are somehow superior to anyone who voted leave.

There have been many posts on MN which categorize those who voted leave as;

Naive
Racist
Thick
Uneducated

I would thought after 10 years they may have realized that it has not resulted in Brexit being cancelled.

I know. I've seen them, so the naive, racist etc. posters can't really moan when it's mentioned. Well they can, and do๐Ÿ™„ but it doesn't change the fact that many Leave voters were taken in by lies, disinformation and Russian interference on the internet.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Seems a fair summary for people who vote without understanding the implications of their vote, and/or without holding the victors of that vote (which begs the question about who exactly "won" ?) to account.

People are of course entitled to vote as they see fit. I wish more people did, in fact. However just voting isn't a magic wand that staves of:

Naivete;
Racism;
Stupidity and deliberate ignorance.

Itโ€™s still shit.

It's actually not that shit. The UK economy has performed a little better than countries inside the EU since leaving.

But it could have been a lot better if we'd have taken full opportunity, instead of the watered down half-hearted version of Brexit we ended up with because the politicians we tasked with delivering and negotiating the deal were remainers at heart, had no desire or vision for it, and simply capitulated to the EU, selling out our fishermen and farmers in the process.

Edited

How do you know? Did you vote Leave?

TooBigForMyBoots · 13/10/2026 18:37

The only Leave voters I know are happy with the Brexit are those who voted to destabilise the Union. The ones who voted Leave because racism are raging. That's hilarious.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Most Leave voters just seem disappointed.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Toobigformyboots, do you always report and get deleted posts that challenge your myopic grasp of the world? If you feel the need to do that, it just shows everyone you have a very weak argument.

Wasn't them, it was me. Because your comment was a blatant personal attack. You name called rather than just engaging with the substance of the debate, and that contravenes the guidelines. I am sure you'll learn how it works here.

TooBigForMyBoots · 13/10/2026 20:55

Thank for clearing things up@pointythings.Thanks

I'd no idea what @Texanmonkey said or why they' been deleted. Clearly their argument(?) was so weak they had to resort to PAs, which have been zapped by MNHQ.

I did look at their previous comments on this thread, it seems they are one of many disappointed Leave voters.๐Ÿซค

I agree, look at the following:

PM David Cameron (eton and Oxford) voted remain.

PM Theresa May (Oxford) voted remain.

PM Boris Johnson (Eton and Oxford) campaigned for leave, but didnโ€™t think they would win.

PM. Liz Truss (Oxford) voted remain.

PM Rishi Sunak ?

PM Kier Starmer (Oxford) voted remain

PM Andy Burnham (Cambridge) voted remain

So, for as long as UK has a remain supporter PM, Brexit opportunities will always be ignored.

EEexpat · 13/10/2026 22:23

@TooBigForMyBoots

17.4 million people voted leave in 2016. How many of them do you know?

Most Leave voters, like yourself, @Texanmonkey, even GB News viewers are disappointed with Brexit. Farage, PM Cameron and PM Johnson metaphorically shat their pants when the result came in.

the only qualifications to vote are:

be voting age
registered to vote

How people vote is entirely their own choice.

Regards Brexit, the 494 MPs who made Brexit happen on the 29 March 2019 are known. So, why donโ€™t you hold them to account by suing them?

EEexpat · 13/10/2026 22:43

@TooBigForMyBoots

Nigel Farage campaigned for Leave but didn't think they would win

Nigel Farage has never been PM. Whereas, both Cameron and Johnson have.

Most Leave voters, like yourself, , even GB News viewers are disappointed with Brexit.

I am not disappointed with Brexit. Reasons are:

UK has grown more than the major EU countries since Brexit.

UK has lower US tariffs than the EU.

UK has lower debt than France.

UK has lower immigration than EU.

My Spanish SIL has to pay to enter the UK, but I donโ€™t pay anything to enter Spain.
