Is Reform done for?

The last several recent national polls indicate that the election of Burnham as leader has seen Labour retake the lead and would probably form a minority government (or better) if an election was held tomorrow. Reform meanwhile is in the low 20s, while they’re were averaging low 30s just six months ago. Do you think it’s game over for Reform in terms of the next election? Is Burnham enough to secure the next election for Labour? Or could Reform claw it back still?

No but it won’t form the next government as it will not get an overall majority. The likely outcome is a Labour, Lib Dem, Green, coalition with the Greens only being involved if they grow up.

Your percieved negativity as to the skills of the current government don't correlate to additional skills and experience in Reform though, do they? Its like saying you think your manager is rubbish, so let's replace them with the apprentice we caught with his hand in the till.
Reform are demonstrably short of quality people. Why else did they fight the most importantant by election of their existence with a candidate as poor as Kenyon?
As for saying when I spoke of corruption you thought I meant Labour not Reform, you'd have go some to justify that.
Its good you're satisfied with your Reform council. I'm highly dusatisfied with mine, who are unfortunately reflective of the daily news stories of in fighting, arrests, bullying, forced resignations and defections that seem to characterise Reform administrations.
Can you say a little more about how Burnham is going to morally bankrupt the country? That's quite the accusation. What do you mean, and what has he said or done to make you fear this descent into immorality?

Look at the ULEZ scheme in Manchester 100 million of tax payers money wasted, and before you say it was a Conservative initiative, which it was, they didn’t specify the large area that Burnham committed us too, he has admitted to that. That meant normal people going about their business paying large charges. Do you know how much the coup that Burnham has pulled off cost the taxpayer?? Burnham’s handling of the Staffordshire health enquiry was not good either. His handling of the grooming gangs in Manchester not good.I do not think it is acceptable to have anybody with a criminal record in Government? Also disagreed with Kemi about JBP. Corruption and criminality should not be accepted in any political party. Love them or hate them Richard Tice, Farage, Zia Yusef have all been successful business men. Burnham is a career politician. Personally think we need more people with business acumen in Government, which the Labour front bench sadly lacks. It is not good that your council is not performing but our Reform Council, who I didn’t vote for, are doing very well. The proof is in the pudding, Labour are not aspirational, business is struggling, cost of living etc. Reform are not in charge Labour are! So everything that is happening in the country is down to Labour not Reform.

Yes it was. Nobody would have known about it without the declaration.

They were declared late.😂😂

Which council are you under, Worrall20? Understand if you prefer not to share, but I am curious.

The original question from the OP was "Is Reform done for ?"

The actual answer is that "we don't know" because we have have the next GE due no later than 20th August 2029. If Air-miles Andy doesn't call one before then, we have a plethora of events that could happen in the political arena.

Some wise person said "A week is a long time in politics" !.

They weren't. Here is a snippet from The Telegraph's hit piece article about it all at the time.

I find it difficult to imagine that someone going to great effort to defend and minimise the issues with Reform, while at the same time exaggerating and amplifying any and all issues with Labour, and throwing in some unsubstantiated doom mongering about what they think Burnham will do, is really a neutral undecided voter, who 'may' vote Reform.
Your bias in their favour is very apparant. Which is your right. But there's no point trying to present as an objective open minded observer. If you like the look of Reform's gib, why not support them properly, by explaining what's good about them?

Oh please, I don’t vote Reform but would do if it got this Government out, I have admitted that. But please do away with the holier than thou attitude or people in glass houses etc attitude. Labour are in charge so they should be squeaky clean, Reform, Conservatives, Lib Dem’s, Greens, who are not in charge should also be squeaky clean.

No problem, Lancashire County Council.

I don't have a holier than thou attitude. Its not my ethics that are in question here, or yours, or our behaviour, so glass houses and stones is an inappropriate analogy. We are discussing politicians. You believe that because in your opinion Labour are not squeaky clean, you might as well vote for a party facing multiple corruption investigations. That's your right, inexplicable as that is to me.

A Lib Dem/Green coalition. Great, if everything about being British wants to be finished off. Polls or not, no chance.

Why do you say no chance? If those results I posted were to happen, then there would be a left wing coalition. Reform and Cons wouldn't have the numbers.

Well of course it might not happen but I’d say there’s more than a cat in hells chance. It’s likely given current polling and our system no party will gain a working majority which means forming alliances. The Lib Dem’s won’t make the same mistake again with the Tories. Reform and the Tories are unlikely to say the least given the mutual loathing. Nigel, Kemi and Robert in the same Cabinet anyone?

Greens are getting nowhere near power, thankfully. LibDem and Labour would be just about bad enough.

Me neither. Very popular with the young voters though.

What is the answer, more of the same is not working, it’s like picking between a shit sandwich or a shit roll, better have one of them because something new might be worse

Given the choice of a shit sandwich, a shit roll and having ten tons of shit dropped on me from above, I think I'd hold my nose and go for one of the first two....

As I said in a previous post, the majority of those arguing that ' they can't be worse than the other two' are I think going to be in for a nasty shock', unless they happen to be crypto billionaires....

The change in voting age would lend itself wonderfully the the Greens. God help us all.

A nasty shock, for me, would be lowered as a second class citizen, with no agency as a woman. You think billionnaires are more dangerous than medieval regimes. Polanski has got a lot up his sleeve yet but he's no holding the strings.

You have accused me of amplifying and exaggerating all of Labour’s misgivings. You asked me about Burnham which I replied, again all proven, then that was doom mongering! You accuse me of supporting Reform, I don’t. The point in question is the hypocrisy which is very fitting for the proverb don’t throw stones at glass houses.

The proverb is that people in glasshouses shouldn’t throw stones. The question is who is in the glasshouse?

There were an estimated 1,012,000 young people aged 16 to 24 years in the UK who were NEET (not in Education, Enployment or Training) in January to March 2026: - are you seriously saying that they are our future ??
