I have just seen this on the news. The building and meeting with some regional mayors.

Is this a good move or a gimmick?

You don’t think 2 offices can be called decentralisation. Do you think that’s the whole policy? Are you seriously suggesting AB is going to go, “2 offices sorted that issue out”. Clearly, it’s a symbolic start to more decentralisation. Manchester is a starting point and AB has said he wants every postcode to benefit.
Most countries do have a capital city but they also have other centres of power. In the US Washington is the political capital and NYC is the financial capital, that’s not an accident. Lots of countries have federal systems of government with regional seats of power. The level of centralisation in the U.K. is actually unusual.
Every country is not run like the U.K. far from it in fact. Open your mind.

I don't get why number ten north was created does it mean you write to number ten north instead of the London one if you are sick of things in the north sounds pointless Don't MPs get rents paid in London If that stopped maybe it would make some sense It's definitely not done anything to improve Sunday travelling from Blackpool So many trains cancelled overcrowded trains and for some inexplicable reason they no longer put replacement buses on when there is no driver available for multiple trains
