It’s Kemi’s job to hold government to account she should be criticising AB, that’s her job. She is making comments about his policy. I’ll not criticise her for that. However, I would say that small things make big things. Small answers can make a big difference to people’s lives: buses, VAT on electricity. Not everything has to be huge, politicians have lost sight of individual lives.

I agree, give him time.

Sad about the climate. Badenoch is undermining the commitment of her party from Thatcher onwards. This is presumably why Burnham is also undermining Starmer's funding to poorer countries - the latest PM is making them take out a loan. I still think this is all very regressive.

Kemi doesn’t have to do more than hold Labour to account, one Labour leader down so far.

On what happens next the opposition tends to benefit when people vote against the party in power. So she’ll benefit if AB becomes less liked.

Or the other parties will benefit including Reform.

Holding to account, that is her job. She wasn't the reason for Starmer's resignation.

On she doesn’t do much her rating has ticked upwards over the last year. She was more liked than the male leaders, although now AB is in he’s probably still higher idk

So even if a few on here denigrate she’s building a good base. The harder part is the tories overall and whether if people get annoyed with Labour they switch to Reform instead.

It's obvious you like Kemi Badenoch a lot, I hope that doesn't stop you scrutising the policies she is proposing.

Burnham’s trump card is that he can’t be replaced by his party without mayhem and the destruction of Labour. He’ll be in until he calls a GE however he performs, well or badly.

The trouble he has with an early GE is that he leads a cabinet and many in the lower ranks who are either tainted by Starmer and by the plotting or are re-treads like Rayner and Haigh who really shouldn’t be in government at all. He has no clean slate to offer.

Why are your posts overly positive for Labour and negative for Kemi?, who will you vote for then the tories?

These last posts make me so pleased Labour MPs couldn’t stand Starmer.

In fairness, having never voted Tory in my life - Kemi has me the closest to convinced I’ve ever been.

Whether it would be enough to turn my vote, I don’t yet know.

But I like her - I like her no nonsense approach, I like at least some the things she says, and I like how open and clear she is about why the Tory’s ended up not being good enough, and losing the last election. It’s at least some accountability.

I don’t find her as fundamentally disagreeable as any of her predecessors.

Badenoch's policies are too right wing for me.

I am centre to left leaning so Labour’s policies align more with my views.

That doesn't mean that I agree with all their policies.

I don't treat politics as a popularity contest, I want stability and for that we need patience.

As an avid news hound I can’t see how I could have missed it if it had ever got coverage. I grit my teeth and read the Telegraph and even that hasn’t published anything about a plan.

No you still got it wrong. I dislike Badenoch's policies, not her personally I don't really mind her that much.

I’d like Badenoch a lot better if she wasn’t so rude and abrasive. The side of her I saw at Starmer’s last PMQs made me wish she didn’t bother with the pantomime villain persona the rest of the time.

Burnham has said he will give a detailed plan after the summer, which isn’t that far away. He can’t reveal detailed plans for all those areas without involving the minister responsible.

It’s all very well for her to restate plans she’s already decided on months ago. She also lied several times during her speech this morning.
Stating Burhamm wanted to go back to the 70s. He spoke about the balance of things not being correct for 40 years, which by my reckoning is 1986, not anywhere near the 70s.
She also said the streets are unsafe, at the same time crime stats came out stating crime is down in most areas.
She needs to do better and stop treating voters like idiots in order to score a point.

Yes, I can understand why you think that tbf. That was a good day in politics all round. I almost had a tear in my eye when Keir talked about his wife and kids. Loved the way he said "kids" as well. He sort of saved his best moments for his exit.

Obviously it’s a policy thing for many. You’re not the only one who looks at that. You’ll still denigrate Badenoch and post positively for Labour which is the same outcome whether you personally like her or not.

I don’t dislike Burnham, I’m happy he made the move, not sure his policies will work out, I’ll see what he does for three years.

She was right on him going backwards though. It's fair to wait for his full plan but you can't blame her for doing her job in getting in early on trying to destabilise his government.
