I agree some of these posts are nonsense the “it’s just my opinion” argument doesn’t hold. If your opinion is nonsense it’s nonsense.

No one, absolutely no one should want a PM to last till Christmas. It is massively damaging to the country. AB is clearly not inexperienced, he’s been a minster and a shadow minister and actually held power in a major region. You can be in parliament for years and have no experience of actually making decisions, time at Westminster does not equal experience of making decisions.

People criticising the decisions on buses have clearly done absolutely no research into the Bee Network in Manchester, electric vehicles, night buses, increased frequencies, integrating with the tram network. That’s not parochial that’s making an actual difference to people’s lives.

The short shortsighted, tribalism on this thread is the problem we face as a country rather than the actions of politicians. We need to vote for difficult decisions and we won’t because we want a new PM now, we want the person we want now, we want our tribe now!

When someone correctly points out some of these opinions are ‘shit’ there is massive offence and horror, while the same posters make offensive comments about politicians. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.

This thread is about how much time you give Burnham, not policing other posters, I will stop derailing as well.

It’s fabulous as an achievement, but there’s more to life than busses, whether they are integrated with the tram or not, and I’m saying this as someone who uses buses all the time.

The above comment is a response to a post I made last night about how the government were going to pay for the bus, VAT on electricity, announcements. If you read through the discussion last night we were giving facts to back up our opinions. There is no extra money. It is a sneaky taking away from Starmer's commitment to climate change. We were going to help fund poorer countries' climate change efforts. Now we are going to force them to take out a loan.

Obviously, more to life than buses so let’s look at his attempt to improve technical education by working with schools and colleges in Greater Manchester.

I do happen to support AB, but my issue with ‘how long will he last’ is the damage it does to the country. The glee with which people are shouting, till Christmas, the end of the Summer, give him a year, it’s like the Roman circus. I can remember feeling relief when Sunak became PM, not because I agree with him but because he felt like a safe Tory after Truss.

Frequent changes of PM isn’t a game show, spouting poorly researched nonsense isn’t a badge of honour and don’t get me started on the people who attack personality and looks.

The country feels unstable at the moment and we can’t point the finger at politicians while we indulge in this type of hyperbolic undermining of a PM who hasn’t been in power for 5 days. We, you, me, this thread, MN in general all contribute to the stability of the country.

They should have kept Starmer and swapped him out 6 months before the end of his term.

No, I didn’t desist from criticism policy and I did want Truss out as quickly as possible as she was destroying the economy. But, when Sunak took charge I really wanted him to stay till the next GE, not because I agreed with him but because he was a steady pair of hands, a grown up politician who was implementing policies I didn’t always agree with but he had a plan.
When Sunak made Cameron Foreign Secretary, I was initially horrified by the fact he was from the Lords, but very quickly I realised we needed someone with Cameron’s experience and I thought it was actually the best option for the country - even if it wasn’t my preferred option.
I didn’t get what I wanted but I could agree the idea had merit, I didn’t go on SM and throw a toddler tantrum because it didn’t fit my specific ideals.I then scrutinised Cameron’s actions. That’s how parliamentary democracies work.
