Nigel Farage is resigning as MP for Clacton, triggering a by-election in the constituency - which he will stand in.

He says he wants the people of Clacton to decide whether he is worthy of representing them - not the mainstream media who he feels constantly attack him personally as well as the party he represents.

I’ve just seen the clip of Jenrick laying into journalists on sky news. Completely distorting the facts and shouting over them all about the fact a pool reporter went to Farage’s daughter’s house and banged on the door and hounded a child (his daughter is in adult, and they didn’t speak to her, nor bang on the door!).

The way they are allowed to get away with this crap is ridiculous. Something does need to be done because this doesn’t feel right at all anymore. All politicians lie but this is unnervingly Trumpian and so unserious. It can’t be for real that this is the state of affairs now!?

I don’t think there are any such requirements - not sure if they even need to be resident in the UK. Whatever the regulations are Binface must surely be the expert on them.

Honestly, they’re making politics into a complete farce. I cannot believe what I’m witnessing. I keep saying this but every time I see any of them just bare faced lying on tv and getting irate and laughably unprofessional, I’m open mouthed in disbelief that this is what we are descending into and it’s being allowed. It’s not normal and shouldn’t be being normalised. It’s horrifying.

Our MP didn't live in the constituency at the time of the GE. Not entirely sure whether he does now either! The previous one was the same.

reducing congestion in Northallerton is all very well but he needs some Clacton-centric solutions. Separate lanes for mobility scooters and Sholleys maybe, with priority for the latter - that’d greatly improve pedestrian safety and promote local industry.
