Elected on a minuscule turnout. When I belonged to a union, I always voted. I read the candidates' statements and made a point of voting for the ones that focussed on the reasons I had joined in the first place - pay, pensions, working conditions. I rejected all the people whose main focus seemed to be boycotting Israel. I understand why most union members don't bother to vote. It's tedious and possibly seems irrelevant. But then you end up in a union run by people like this. I left mine.
