What I would like to ask Reform supporters what are the specific Reform policies they support?

CurlewKate · 08/05/2026 12:23

Just that really. I am a Labour voter, and I know what Labour policies I support. I think I know what Conservative and Lib Dem policies their supporters like. I don't know about Reform.

You’d be wasting your time asking Reform themselves what their policies are. They are populists. They don’t see the need for honesty and many of their deeply held beliefs and underpinning values would be a shock to their voters.

If you didn't have to pay any tax so you got to tak home more do you not think you'd spend more?

So you have changed your reason now. You did say cutting corp tax would create more employment. But when asked how that works you say the money will be spent.

Thing is though, tax is spent too. That's why government raise tax, to spend it on things.

So that surely means that part of Reform policy does not actually do anything?

EEexpat · 21/05/2026 12:20

Some counties don’t have income taxes.

Loopylalalou · 21/05/2026 12:29

Funny isn’t it, where so many have such fixed views they’re not prepared to consider another just by one inch.
Not a single political party can ever get everything right. I think it’s time to focus on what the established pair have got wrong rather than just dismiss all others out of hand.

EEexpat · 21/05/2026 12:50

@Loopylalalou

People are allowed to choose for themselves who they vote for. It’s called democracy.

There is no obligation for anyone to explain how or why they voted.

alexandrasm · 21/05/2026 13:04

I have a question for reform voters - watching the Kirklees Council Chair admit she hasn’t bothered to read what she’s voting for and doesn’t understand what’s happening, how can you in good faith vote for them?

If people pay less tax they spend more. Businesses are the same. If businesses have more money they expand and grow. I would far rather the money was in the hands of business owners than a government.

Money spent on the business is not profit, so it is not taxed.

The tax is on profit only. This was part of my original comment on this reform policy. Companies reduce their tax exposure by investing in the company. That is why companies in higher tax regimes tend to spend more on investment and R&D.

Removing tax can reduce the economy. Because a larger amount of the profit is potentially removed from circulation.

You’re saying the opposite of what I really meant, which is that some never budge from a fixed viewpoint. I (try to) keep an open mind, and have seen policy issues raised by ‘newer' parties that are certainly worth further consideration. Not everyone gets everything right or everything wrong you know!

Come on - even Tommeh is questioning if Lowe is too racist. That grooming gang enquiry is a disgrace, and is just re-raping the victims in his ‘cause’.

I don’t know what he wants except a platform - a dig at those who didn’t want him in their parties - oh and backing from the richest guy on the planet. I’m sure he’d be fine to be PM - and spout his outdated, obnoxious rubbish but hopefully no great numbers will buy into him.

It is Tommy, woman. Also no Tommy isn’t saying Lowe is “racist”. The MSM brainwashing don’t work no more.

Erm. He is leader of a political party. The party has a website, and likely a communications person etc. You yourself posted upthread about what is going to be the findings of this 700k quid investigation.

If every individual wanting to know anything has to individually email him, and he has to individually answer, how is that in any way efficient ?

Ok if you can’t be bothered to ask then keep wasting oxygen. He has also posted policies too but you keep on your high horse thinking u know better than everyone else and can’t even got the courage to email him. There is a contact address on the website. The crowdfunding page has further details on what is being done and his the funds being used. But yeah u keep typing on here 🤣👍

Surely you want to set the record straight!

Oh I went on Saturday Phil - joined the larger side that didn’t need to pee in the street or shout for women to strip - seemed more appropriate to my values.

Hopefully those you marched with managed to behave in line with your values - seems like they probably did from what I’ve seen tbh.

Well if you want to be precise it’s Stephen Yaxley Lennon and Tommeh is just his stage name - taken from a football thug - how apt.

Indeed Stephen, Tommy, Tommeh, etc has questioned Lowe’s policies as too racist to pass on to his followers - it was one of his videos on X - surely you can’t have missed it as a big fan of both of them.

Please you know nothing. Many people of different colours and audiences went there. Black people in the audience and speaking at the event, Chinese, Indian, Iranians, middle class, working class. No one is falling for the MSM tripe you guys say anymore.

racist, fascist, far right, thug, can’t even call him by the name 99% of the population know him as. It must hurt so bad that the movement is growing and growing and Reform are getting the votes and there is nothing you guys can do apart from make a poxy little thread wingeing and clutching your pearls about it. Let’s hope one day it isn’t your family suffering at the hands of these illegal immigrants doing bad things do them. XX 😘🤣🙈🙈

But you seem to know so much about it. Where did you get your info ?

Surely he is not sitting there doing individual emails instead of just doing a press release on his website ?

How is that an efficient way of working ? Individual emails.

Just because something would be extremely difficult to reform - as we all know the tax system would indeed be - it doesn’t mean you can’t call it out.
In my view that’s what is increasingly wrong with politics. Too many slavishly follow the party line, whips enforcing such, with no one prepared to stop and question. Too many on that gravy train.
Look at Kruger and Jenrick - freed from that tyranny, they’re more proactive through being allowed to have an opinion. And happier too, it appears.

You'd need cross party working or all that work could then be reversed but i do agree there is a reluctance to take on vested interests.

I don't know much about Kruger but Jenrick seems just as self serving as ever & wasn't he involved in some corrupt planning decision in order to save a friend several million.

Plus of course he seems to change his views to match the popular vote, a Remainer who became a Brexitier, a Tory who became a Reformite!

Haha maaan - we outnumbered you 3:1 - that didn’t hurt - it felt amazing 🤩

EEexpat · 21/05/2026 16:38

@blossomtoes

Dubai has metro rail along sheikh Zayed road. Taxis are cheap due to low fuel costs. Employers have to provide healthcare cover. Same in Saudi Arabia.

BIossomtoes · 21/05/2026 17:19

There’s a lot more to public services than transport and health. And there’s the small matter of war - the Middle East is and always will be a tinderbox.

They do indeed know what a woman is - they will push them all back to the kitchen, remove work rights that make it harder for women to continue working, encourage (white) women to breed, consider restricting abortion.

If this is what you want then fill your boots - but don’t expect every woman to look forward to all this just as you think there’ll be more guarantee of avoiding a trans person in the bog.

Where do you get this twaddle from? Point me to evidence.

Check out what their proposed repeal of the Human Rights Act would mean.
