What I would like to ask Reform supporters what are the specific Reform policies they support?

CurlewKate · 08/05/2026 12:23

Just that really. I am a Labour voter, and I know what Labour policies I support. I think I know what Conservative and Lib Dem policies their supporters like. I don't know about Reform.

Yes totally agree

they don’t need to be in the UK in the first place, many of them aren’t adding any value

I think a migrant qualified doctor is adding way more value than a white British chav who is choosing not to work and then blaming "all the immigrants" for taking our jobs 🙄

Have you never had to provide a reference?

Only to confirm payment of rent, no damage to property etc. Not a background check as such.

It wouldn’t have confirmed if I was a “fugitive” or criminal.

My last property didn’t even get an employer reference, they just took my proof of salary.

I think landlords just want their rent paying and their houses not destroying.

Yes definitely but not the ones who run vape shops or dodgy mini marts and mafia type activities or people trafficking

@EvieBB
The greens are worrying. They have very extremist policies such as getting rid of nuclear weapons, which would leave us vulnerable to attack by countries like Russia and Iran. They also want to stop the police being able to carry out stop and search, which is important to keep our streets safe. They want to stop formal testing in secondary schools-children do need qualifications. They are anti-semitic.
I am not a Reform voter (mainly because their finances don't add up) but I totally understand Reform voters' concerns.
Immigration is a problem in the UK because so many people are angry about it. When parties like Labour deny their concerns, they are adding fuel to the fire.
People are unsurprisingly angry when:

  1. They can't get a GP appointment due increases in the population
  2. They can't get a school place for their child at the local school due to the increase in the population
  3. They go to A&E and they have to wait considerably longer.
  4. Their children can't get entry-level jobs
  5. They can't get social housing but newly arrived immigrants can
  6. Cheap foreign labour suppressing wages
  7. Hearing about pro-palestine marches when they are scared about extreme Islamists who are against womens' rights e.g. Hamas.

Here are just some of the ways a “mini mart” would support the economy:

  • VAT on eligible goods
  • business rates
  • corporation tax or income tax
  • employee National Insurance contributions

How many of those is someone who has never been employed, by choice, contributing?

How terribly racist you are. Do you have to be white to be a chav? I guess you're not a Labour voter because the white working class were the founders of the Labour party.

But ok to money launder or sell illegal products?

But many are selling food items that contravene food safety standards, and importing products that are not legal to sell wrt consumer safety and biosecurity. Skin whitening creams were a big problem.

Effective policing, sanctions & occasionally forensic accounting are necessary

That article doesn’t say how “many” (that I could see) and personally I don’t endorse buying skin cream of any kind from a butcher.

I quite agree that those illegal products shouldn’t be in a shop, but if you’re the kind of person who’d buy skin cream from a butcher, you’re the reason we have warning labels on bleach.

Can you read? If you go to the reform website and read their policies, they have nothing against immigrants coming here for qualified work such as doctors, they dont want people here for minimum wage jobs i.e. Someone from Zimbabwe to be a care worker and then beat a man to death. R.I.P Luke.
At the stay time you could argue it is making it harder for our young doctors to get places because they would rather hire a doctor from India with much more experience for less.

You are happy to throw around the word Chav... which speaks volumes.

I’m desperate, and I mean desperate, for my 9 year autistic child to get some bloody sleep.

If I go to the local bakery for medication or some sort of “helpful” ointment… feel free to question my thought process.

You fool. All these ' qualified doctors ' coming over on small boats eh ? Listen to yourself. Do you actually believe that this is what is going on in the UK ? They're not ' fleeing war or oppression '. Most of them are chancers, just waiting to enter the black economy ( at best ) or burgeoning criminal networks. My own town is now swamped with Bulgarian and Romanian gypsies. These people are heartily despised in their countries of origin, with their filth and thieving, and are now breeding like rabbits to take advantage of our welfare system. Any government that deports the lot of them , or promises to, will win the popular vote by a landslide in my town.

What thoroughly unpleasant phrasing.

I think we should deport all Reform supporters to the Falkland Islands and then hand them over to Argentina.

quantumbutterfly · 15/05/2026 21:49

As long as they pass the medical knowledge and language requirements (some countries are ahead of the UK in medical practice). But you seriously don't think the majority of people smuggled into the country have these qualifications. I do know doctors who have sought asylum in the UK from warring states, they already had sponsors here.

Campaign for that then if you feel so strongly about those who just will not vote the way you want them to. Have you thought about living under a dictatorship? North Korea maybe?
