And poor Nigel is the most physically attacked MP of modern times. So he deserves his 5 million to keep him safe.

Did he say that ? What about jo cox and David amess

Yes, he did. A disgusting little man who can’t be bothered to pretend to have even a modicum of respect for those who have been killed.

MaybeIamJustABitch · 06/05/2026 23:02

Hmm, regardless of the political party, they are all bloody corrupt, each and every one of them.

I’m not suggesting that I’m voting Reform, as I’m not, and there are no local elections tomorrow in my Borough, but FFS they are all as bad as each other, recent history (call it what you will) tells you us that, along with the drama of PMQ’s.

Why on earth they can’t get down to business and sort shit out is beyond me. The ‘games’ that us tax payers are funding (order, order), makes a mockery of the entire system.

What gets my goat is that there are dozens of threads frothing about the Jewish leader of the Green Party apparently being wildly anti semitic, but when it's dear old Nige and his well documented youthful propensity to creep up behind Jewish kids and make hissing noises to imitate the gas chambers......tumbleweed.

Surely you know why that is?

i can’t wait for all the threads about bins not being collected and social care going to shit

crackofdoom · 06/05/2026 23:04

PomplaMouse · 06/05/2026 22:57

Yes, I'm not sure what words trigger it exactly, but I do find that posts concerning the origin of the £millions that fund Reform (and - it seems - Farage) do get insta-blocked on here.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/nov/21/cryptocurrency-farage-donor-used-for-russian-war-effort

Here's a Guardian peace from before the "personal gift" was reported on.

Can anyone remind me what the deal with Nathan Gill was, btw?

I think Nathan Gill was accepting cash for questions in the EU parliament, without Googling it.

Probably questions along the line of "Do we not accept that the Donbas is majority ethnically Russian so should belong to Russia?" at a guess.

BIossomtoes · 06/05/2026 23:00

Is he? Did I dream Jo Cox and David Amess and all the assaults on Anna Soubrey and other remain MPs?

The Brighton bomb also seems to have slipped his mind.

No, but what it did do was ensure that he will not tax cryptocurrency billionaires and instead pass that tax burden onto you and i.

The donor isn't UK based, so it's likely not tax policy that's the angle.

We can't post about it on here but, to repost:

Ah yes, I knew it was something to do with the Kremlin, bribes and Reform UK.

Still though, back to the matter in hand - what a lovely personal gift to Nigel.

SabrinaThwaite · 06/05/2026 23:13

Perhaps Nigel could buy himself a small plane with a personal pilot with some of that £5million to avoid the security risk of being in close contact with the great unwashed general public at big airports?

What could possibly go wrong?

Honestly?

For all their faults, Labour are busy enacting legislation and trying to work out how to make things better. One recent example that comes to mind is that they have commissioned an enquiry into how to decouple the unit price of gas (expensive) from the unit price of renewables (cheap).

I know, boooooooring 😴 Why can't they just wave a magic wand and make everything better RIGHT NOW?!

because the chances are after watching the show billions, im guessing many would have different deals or tradeoffs etc so basically yea. theres bigger fish than 5 mil

MaybeIamJustABitch · 07/05/2026 02:02

@crackofdoom bless you for falling for that load of clap trap. You’ll be telling us they’ll be allowing the North Sea to be opened up for drilling before long.

TemperanceWest · 06/05/2026 22:55

And refused an invitation from Newsnight. Odd that, given he usually turns up to the opening of an envelope if it means media coverage.

Especially if that envelope is stuffed full of used £10 notes 😂

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 07/05/2026 05:40

I think it's a bit like all the stuff that has come out about Trump over the years. It doesn't seem to even put a dent in his support because the shittiness is already priced in. Reform voters do probably know that Farage is dodgy as fuck, but they don't care because their hatred of foreigners is stronger than any concerns that they might have about his integrity. So they just turn a blind eye and tell themselves that all politicians are corrupt anyway.

MyAutumnCrow · 07/05/2026 05:43

wecangoupupup · 06/05/2026 11:05

Currently wondering why my post has been hidden for calling out the double standards of the media 🤨

I think MNHQ has forgotten about it! It’s still ‘hidden’ until someone can take a look at it, apparently.

knitnerd90 · 07/05/2026 05:46

It's the same thing as Trump voters dismissing his corruption. Either they don't believe it, or they think all politicians are corrupt so it doesn't matter anyway.

TemperanceWest · 07/05/2026 06:30

AImportantMermaid · 07/05/2026 05:31

So Nigel had a present of £5m. I don't think that affected me at all, it didn't increase the price of the shirt I bought nor the cost of diesel.
The fact that Elon Musk has a Trillion Dollars did not cause the sandwich and cup of tea mentioned on another thread to cost £18.00. We have a little more money than my cousin who had a better education than me but I made better career choices.
Is it only envy that causes the grinding of teeth on these threads?

Do you really not understand why a crypto billionaire is giving the leader of a political party £5m, and how that might affect you in future?

What do you think that crypto billionaire might want in exchange for a lot of money? I'll help you... He wants preferential treatment. He doesn't want to pay tax. He wants his business to be involved in government, if Reform eventually get in. He wants any dodgy stuff he's doing in business ignored. He's playing a long game, because he knows the investment is worth it. Rich people do not just give money away, they expect something in return. And that affects us all, because it takes tax away from the Treasury, it makes infrastructure unsafe, and it means someone who - heaven forbid - could be PM some day, is completely corruptible.

Something not directly affecting you is not the end of the story. Use your brain, for goodness sake.

OddBoots · 07/05/2026 06:54

Don't you know that corruption is all the fashion these days!

Who can be bothered with the Nolan Principles of public life - Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty, and Leadership are just so boring.

Bring on the inflammatory statements, the scapegoating, the grift, hypocracy and shout those simple lies to complex problems, it's all we have the attention span to cope with and it makes the media companies rich so that's all that is important.

Could you specify exactly what it is I said that was claptrap?

If you're referring to Farage's bullying and racist behaviour at school, there are over 20 witnesses who have been willing to go on the record:

No actually I think it is.

He wasn’t going to run.

He gets a £5m donation

He decides he will run.

He announces a cut in CTG for cryptocurrency as one of his policies.

He can be bought and sold.

I have to say, as awful as it is, I do quite look forward to these reform councils. The idiots who vote them in will get what they deserve

I didn't vote for our reform council :/

Is that c word banned? Blimey.

It’s not banned as such but MN always hide posts with that word in it to check the post out … nothing to do with them trying to silence posts critical of Farage.
