"Éljen a Magyar!" ?

Maybe, maybe not. Magyar is pretty conservative (former ally of Orban) and while he’s signalled that he wants to work with Europe, he’s been clear that it will be on Hungary’s terms.

He has said he does not intend to change abortion laws and has made no substantive comments on gay/trans rights. No changes on immigration policy.

I am pleased Orban is out but I am not sure this is as significant a change as is being portrayed.

This is very good news for Europe and a sign that Russia and America are in serious trouble. The fact that Vance attempted to influence the election and failed is a sign that voters are using their heads. A sign that Trump is failing to influence Europe.

What needs to happen now is for the UK electorate to wake up and realise that Farage is a clear danger to our democracy, our way of life and our relationship with our best allies in Europe.

Starmer is by far the best chance this country has of returning us to Europe and his plans to rejoin the customs union without a vote is the best news I've heard in 10 years.

Sadly, if America is in trouble - it's what we deserve.
