Over half of 2024 Labour voters now say they regret it

More than one in two people who voted Labour in 2024 now say they regret their vote so much that they will vote for another party at the next election.

One of Labour's biggest problems is who they're now voting for - nearly half to the Greens but also a significant amount to Reform. It's going to be probably impossible to win them both back and if they go after just one of them, it's unlikely to be enough to win another election, assuming they're successful

Can you give the attribution and date for this, please? It's meaningless without them.

Labour’s problem is that a large number of people who voted for them in 2024 did so because they were voting against the Tories or Reform.

Reform and the Green Party will say whatever makes them popular and have no substance.

The challenge is most of the main parties aren’t much better at present.

But without any information about when this was done, who the survey group was and the methodology, it's meaningless. It could be ten shoppers in the Tesco in Haggerston at midnight on 7 January 2025.

I'm disappointed with Labour, but at the same time, I didn't have unrealistic expectations going in, so I don't have regrets. They've been handed a nearly unmanageable situation and I don't see what they particularly could have done or be doing better. As things stand, I'll vote for them again unless I need to vote tactically to keep Reform out.

Don’t beat yourselves up though, Labour won with a low turnout, they got 33% of the vote in a
low turnout election. Their win is also attributed to the collapse of the conservative vote and conservative voters voting Reform.

Yes they won with a large parliamentary majority but the low turnout and the low % vote means their win wasn’t necessarily the public vote and that reflects in what we are seeing today.

@ProudAmberTurtle And that’s also a hung parliament so horse trading could be interesting. We rarely see that but it’s likely with so many parties now. We also don’t know if people will revert back to main parties at an election.

I think they’ve made some ridiculously basic errors with the budgets but I don’t regret it because the alternatives are worse.

They need a much much better Chancellor though.

And although Kier lacks charisma, it is a relief just to have a calm party leader not a whole bloody circus.

I have my criticisms of Labour, but I wouldn’t take data from such an unreliable source.

Leftiestats is a loon, but they do tend to post stats/polls from legit sources as far as I've seen.

I did vote Labour in 2024 (lifelong Labour voter apart from when Corbyn was leader) but I will never vote Labour again.
