She apparently is one of those claiming to have crippling anxiety and autism 🤔

Absolute piss take. And we wonder why people are frustrated with the benefits bill. All this does is affect the amount money available to - and the amount of compassion for - actual, deserving people in need of help.

The government need a spine and our support to sort this out. I’m not including the SNP here - they seem to like a subservient, dependent electorate. Fuckers.

I can't fathom the arrogance of being an alleged criminal like this and standing for office

Ironmanssparesuit · 05/03/2026 06:55

I'd need more detail than is in the article - it says she was working and claiming an in-work benefit; so that's not going to automatically exclude her from standing for parliament.

I worked in politics for a while and never stopped being perplexed by the widespread petty corruption.

Here were people, in the top 10% of earners, in their dream jobs perhaps and presumably with things they wanted to achieve in office.

And they would put it all at risk for the sake of exaggerating their expenses or stealing from their constituency party. Always amazed me. What's wrong with just living off your salary like a normal person?

Having said that.....

If there is sonething not quite right about the beneifts claim (and there might not be) this is pretty small beans compared to some of the stuff that's gone on.....particularly amongst the higher ups in her own party!

it's also more forgivable that she did it before getting into office, rather than as an MSP on a generous wage.

The Daily Record is an SNP hating rag, it says allegations, shame nobody has comprehension skills. She has also stated (not reported by DR) she was interviewed in September and has since continued to receive her payments.

I have read the article.

it says adp is an in work benefit and this person works.

it says she has autism and has claimed for several years before standing.

it also says that one person has alleged benefits fraud.

there’s not enough information in the article to see whether she is commuting benefits fraud or not.

i used to teach teens with autism and some of them were able to hold down jobs despite their (obvious) autism and needs for support.

Anxiety? Tourette’s maybe. She’s a piece of work, straight out of the SNP mould..

Exactly. I am an autistic woman and so sick of this attitude. I am no lover of the SNP by any stretch of the imagination but it is hard going in the workplace at times. If she is found to be commiting a fraudent benefit claim, then we will soon find out. However, I hope if she is cleared, then she doesn't let the sad, toxic people put her off and she continues in her political career. Us ASD women and girls need positive role models throughout society.
