I've been, literally, watching the clock at https://www.nobelprize.org/.

In a little under 2 hours, as of the time of this post, the Tangerine Toddler will learn that his biggly assertions of stopping seven wars were not sufficient to counterbalance his horrendous domestic policies, authoritarian ideology, combative foreign policies, and questionable personal qualities.

The purpose of this thread isn't (solely) to mock Trump - he manages to achieve that by himself - but to wonder what his reaction will be when he learns he hasn't won the Nobel Peace Prize.

How do you think Trump, personally, and the US administration is likely to react to the Nobel committee's decision not to award him?

The official website of the Nobel Prize - NobelPrize.org

The Nobel Prize rewards science, humanism and peace efforts. This is one of the central concepts in the will of Alfred Nobel, and it also permeates the outreach activities that have been developed for the purpose of engaging, inspiring and spreading kn...

Same. I repeat and emphasise my opening statement of him being a toddler; he is capricious, unpredictable, and narcissistic. I expect ranting, of course, but do wonder if it will lead to anything of actual substance.

Well that is his M.O.
Look at how he is weaponising the US justice system.
Everything is about the personal with trump (small t intended) and his ego is so fragile that every slight or perceived slight has to be punished.

If the Israel Gaza deal holds, and that may be a big if, he might be in the running for 2026.

Too late, or too soon depending how you express it for 2025.

And there it is. Not only did it not go to the tangerine toddler, but it's gone - rightly - to María Corina Machado; a Venezuelan woman who campaigns tirelessly against an authoritarian regime that refuses to acknowledge the will of the electorate and clings to power.

That'll especially irk Trump.
