Kemi Badenoch empty rhetoric

Saw interview with Kemi badenoch on tv this morning how she’s going to deport 150000 illegal immigrants a year. She was repeatedly asked how and couldn’t answer. Why would we believe Tories would hold to her promises. She / politicians are so full of shit. Say whatever they think is crowd pleating to get elected then churn out excuses why they can’t take the action they said they would. She talked over interviewer . Interviewers need to get tougher and tell politicians they’re being interviewed not giving a monologue. They should be torn to shreds over their empty rhetoric and trying to control the conversation so the interviewer can hardly get a word in edge ways.

She's like the adult in Charlie Brown. She opens her mouth and all that comes out is blah blah blah.

She's irrelevant. Time to bring on the next one.

Badenoch showed early promise over all the gender identity nonsense of Penny Mordaunt et. al. that somehow got past Theresa May (but fortunately not Johnson and Truss), and was impressively articulate in laying out the inappropriate collusion of the civil service.

In office as Party Leader, however, it’s just not working. Her own troops are lukewarm, and she sounds totally unrealistic at times.

I don’t like her economic and social policies at all; and it sounds like I’m not alone. Not by a long chalk.

However, I don’t know how much of what I think I know is real and what’s a media construction. She gets relatively little coverage from the press compared to other opposition leaders previously.

Tomorrows headline in the Dm ( sorry) is also saying they will slash billions off the welfare bill but again I wonder if there are any details of how?

I see the intellectual powerdrain that is Helen Whately is involved. So that’s going nowhere.

Tbf the media seem to think Farage is the opposition leader, unfortunately.
She doesn't need to worry about media construction as she manages to show who she really is each time she opens her mouth in an interview on TV.

Timeforabitofpeace · 06/10/2025 10:54

Her difficulty is that she’s presented herself as so right wing that it’s easy for Farage to upstage her.

Bromptotoo · 06/10/2025 14:00

She's idle and repeatedly trips herself up. When she's called on her errors she gets really aggressive/defensive.

Last week she stated that Northern Ireland voted to leave the EU whereas it actual had a decent majority to remain.

I kind of like her. Strangely.

Yesterday she said, "no more Motability cars for ADHD"

No one is eligible for Motability for ADHD.

That's not exactly true. If you get enhanced rate mobility on the other PIP descriptor which looks at managing a journey/ planning a journey then you can still get a motorbility car. You do not have to be physically unable to walk.

I don’t know why the Tories think people want Reform-lite. They should be able to fairly easily pick up people who aren’t interested in Farage, but who think Labour are incompetent - that cannot be a small demographic! But the polls show them completely falling apart and losing seats to anyone and everyone.

She's all fur coat and no knickers as they used to say in my day.
