Honestly, I don’t know where to start, a crying Erika entering the stage to pyrotechnics.

Stephen Miller going full on Goebbels. His speech bore striking similarities to two of Goebbles speeches
-1930 funeral of Horst Wessel and 1932’s A Storm is Coming. Using terms like "forces of evil" "the good" and "the virtuous” as well as the notion of an "inflamed army" reflect a dualistic worldview that pits good against evil. It’s a stylistic device often used in totalitarian ideologies to mobilise emotions and demonise opponents.
Trump’s speech extolled his tariff policy “Tariffs are making us rich again. Richer than anybody ever thought was possible. And the only one challenging them are people that hate our country or foreign countries that are paying a price.”
It’s absolute lunacy

It's a weird time in America. And here we've got him quoted as saying that gun deaths are worth it for the right to keep guns. Why aren't they just talking about this? Weird.

This is a good idea, to have a separate thread for this.

I didn't watch it (I think it lasted five hours), but from your post, it sounds as if there was a lot of cruelty and stupidity mixed in there. I saw a brief clip of Trump waiting, and he looked very bored.

It’s just absolutely baffling. They’re all so STRANGE.

However, as much as I despise him, Trump is so unintentionally funny

Yes, that's probably the only thing staving off mass suicide in the U.S. - we laugh so much over Trump, even though it's bitter laughter. We just now had a huge controversy with a television comic being abruptly taken off the air after having said something wrongly felt to be an insulting lie about the Charlie Kirk aftermath. I've been meaning to post to ask if you have late-night comedy/interview shows like that, too.

Ha, Kimmel?

we don’t have anything too similar to that, I don’t think. We have some talk shows but not to the same degree you guys do.

Right, Kimmel's the one who triggered the huge controversy, although I don't watch him - I have two others whom I prefer.
