Pensions Stolen, Hotels Paid: How the State Betrays British Women

So let’s get this straight.
Labour says it would be “unfair” — yes, unfair — to pay British women the pensions they’re rightfully owed. A flat-rate compensation scheme, they argue, would cost up to £10.5 billion. That, apparently, is just too much for the taxpayer to handle. Too heavy a burden. Too expensive. Too inconvenient.
But wait — in the very same breath, they have no issue at all signing off on billions of pounds to house illegal migrants in hotels. Not just hostels or temporary shelters — but full-service hotels, many costing hundreds of pounds per night. Paid for by you. The British taxpayer.

Women who worked all their lives, paid into the system, raised children, supported families — many of them now pensionless, struggling to heat their homes or feed themselves — are told: “Sorry, there’s no money left.” Yet people who entered this country illegally, without contributing a single penny to the public purse, are handed food, shelter, healthcare, and legal aid on a silver platter.
Where is the outrage? Where is the logic? Where is the basic common sense?
Let’s call it what it is: an insult. A slap in the face to every British woman who’s been denied justice. A betrayal of the very people who built this country.

The state is happy to tell working-class women — many of whom were misled, underinformed, or outright ignored when their pension age was quietly raised — that they must simply “get on with it.” But when it comes to those who cross our borders illegally? The red carpet rolls out. No delays. No debates. No “affordability” test.

The message is loud and clear: law-abiding British citizens come last.
Let that sink in.

Because this is no longer just about money. It’s about priorities. It’s about morality. It’s about who this country serves — and who it’s abandoned.
If the government — and Labour in particular — truly cared about fairness, justice, or “proportionality,” then British women would not be fighting tooth and nail for scraps while illegal migrants are put up in comfort using the very taxes those same women paid throughout their lives.

This isn’t a funding issue. It’s a political choice.
It’s not that the country is broke — it’s that those in charge have broken their promise to the people who deserve it most.
And it’s time we said enough is enough.

I disagree with everything in your post OP. I have some sympathy with the WASPI women, but really, why should this specific cohort get £10.5B of taxpayers money? Why not younger women who have to retire later, or men who saw their pension age go from 65 to 67?

Also, I don't agree that Labour want to have to house asylum seekers. Actually, I think Sir Keir would think all of his Christmases came at once if the number of small boat crossings suddenly fell. The only people benefitting are immigration lawyers and Reform.

It was always a bit weird. I'm the generation that was fighting for equality in the 60s and 70s. Men working for longer than women never made sense but my understanding was we hoped for men to equalise with us at 60, obviously that never happened

Can I just say as a woman in my 70s I've got no issues, some of us didn't get much notice of the second change but I worked till 70 and if others couldn't work till pension age there are benefits.

I think the whole waspi thing needs putting to bed

tennishellbow · 24/07/2025 17:29

Why have you connected these two issues? Is this a wind up or Daily Fail quote finder experiment?

Why not bring up the fact the Duke of Westminster paid no inheritance tax on the £10 billion he inherited? Or that we lose at least £400 million via tax evasion schemes dreamt up for the very wealthy? Or the abysmal rape conviction rates? I suspect because it's not about women's pensions or their rights.

MiloMinderbinder925 · 24/07/2025 17:13

It's time for a change if you're on a tenner a week. Have you thought about claiming benefits?

Lol no I'm more than capable of working and have a little pride thanks 🙂

why did you write this in chat gpt?

So another dressed up migrant bashing thread. How original.

From Epping perchance?

Blimey, OP! I admire your gall, if nothing else. Personally, I would be too embarrassed to display such breathtaking ignorance on a public forum. At least it's anonymous, I guess.

You gave the impression that asylum seekers were on more than Brits. If they're provided with food, they're on a tenner a week. You don't take pride in knowing what you're talking about then.

newdaynewnam · 24/07/2025 17:49

Women are getting pensions, just like men.
Some women chose to ignore information available and are now surprised they have to work until - shock horror - 66. Which is still much earlier than today’s working population.
They are not robbed- they act like spoilt brats who had their sweets taken away.

It’s not affordable, and continuing with it would not fair to the current population and current children.

I didn't give an impression of anything.. I think both are a huge waste of taxes

Things are such that the most urgent terrorist threats are from radical Islam and the far right. Far right agitators are pushing the narrative that the 'men of fighting age' are invading the UK in order to take over. Part of their rhetoric is fundamentalists bringing in weapons and them being a terrorist threat.

Common sense dictates that it's far easier to radicalise people online than pay people smugglers to bring Isis over in inflatables.

Unless it's true.

In which case people aren't being radicalised. They are just finding out the truth (finally). Fingers crossed you're right and there are no Islamist terrorists coming in and it's all just made up by the "far right". I really hope that's the case.

Terrorist will find an easier way to come here, as tourists visiting a cathedral for example.

It seems pretty easy though. To just hide yourself in the over 20,000 that have come over in the boats so far this year? At least they don't have to show their passport.

You don't think the far right are real? You think people like the AfD are figments of the imagination?

Have there been many acts of terrorism on British soil commited by Islamic refugees or asylum seekers?

Of course I know the far right are real. I remember all sorts of horrible incarnations of the far right over the years. I just don't think they are the ones we should be most concerned about at the moment. It's a distraction. I think most people realise that.

Keir Starmer prefers to blame the "far right" for any disturbances, to distract from the real concerns of local people protesting about illegal immigrants being put next to schools in their communities. It's an attempt to delegitimise their very real worries.

Why do you think he does that?

You've got it the wrong way around. Haven't you wondered about the language being used and the fixation on foreigners and 'illegals'?

Social media is a cess pit of far right propaganda.

Men of fighting age, illegals, invasion, low birth rate of whites, Muslim takeover, importing terrorists, women aren't safe, money should go on 'our own', tear up human rights, two tier justice, throw them into camps, dump them in France, send them home...

It's all dehumanising far right rhetoric. It's happening all over the West and in the States 'illegals' are being thrown into cages with no daylight surrounded by alligators and white supremacists are building their own towns.

I think it's better to keep hyperbole and emotion out of it now, as things are getting too heated here in the UK and just look at the facts and numbers. That's the only way that we can all get the true picture. That way people can avoid being lied to by both sides of the argument and can judge properly whether there is a problem.

There is a problem if over 20,000 people have entered the country illegally this year. You must agree. Unless you don't agree with borders. In which case we probably won't agree at all.

So setting asylum accommodating on fire is just distracting from real concerns? As is attacking the police, mosques, people in cars?

There is plenty of evidence that a lot of the rioters were right wing and/or encouraged by far right accoounts.

Why people with real concerns mix with them, I can't imagine.

The fact is that seeking asylum is not illegal

I doubt they have a choice. But it doesn't mean that those people don't have real and valid concerns. Yet Keir Starmer chosen to tar everyone with the same brush. He doesn't appear to care at all about the people of this country. He needs to go as soon as possible I'm afraid.
