She’s phenomenal!

Extremely passionate, not afraid to speak out and very with it. Seems like a genuinely nice person too. She evidently wants change.

Being extremely passionate and unafraid to speak out is great but not if you’re dead wrong about pretty much everything.

In any case, they’ve already fallen out with each other, as the hard left always do - splitters!

RainbowBagels · 04/07/2025 07:39

Yes what on earth is going on there? She announced she was quitting for this new party then JC said he wasn't forming a new party? She can't have quit on the back of some sort of fever dream. They must have discussed it. So he's stabbed her in the back and made a fool out of her is the only explanation.

FiveFoxes · 04/07/2025 08:02

Is that actually true about JCs comment though? BBC is saying he hasn't said anything. I've only read it on Social Media. Today programme was speculating that Zarah put forward her announcement as she wants joint leadership but Jeremy wants it just to be him. Who knows!

A forceful left party putting pressure on Labour is a good thing. They'll hopefully pull Labour back to the left to keep the votes and maybe drag Conservatives back towards the middle too, instead of Labour and Conservatives drifting right to compete with Reform.

I'm left leaning, but would prefer both Conservatives and Labour to be in the middle ground because that's how the country runs best. They need a far left party to balance the far right to keep the big two in the middle (and Labour and Conservatives need new leaders and purpose).

CanOfMangoTango · 04/07/2025 08:04

JC is Schrodinger's PM isn't he

Simultaneously a terrible person with dodgy politics who would have made an awful PM as well as getting sufficient votes that the prospect of a Labour victory was a genuine possibility.

In terms of the number of votes he was a real contender and certainly more popular than KS is now.

PhilippaGeorgiou · 04/07/2025 08:09

Reddog1 · 03/07/2025 21:03

Won’t he take a handful of votes from Labour and thereby let in Reform?

I get that people in England unlike other parts of the UK don’t have much choice on the left though, and might welcome JC’s party.

How many votes it may take from Labour would remain to be seen, but "letting Reform in" is a horse that has bolted, and Labour managed that all by themselves. I live is a "safe" Labour voting area. For decades the Council had overwhelming Labour control. It is now overwhelming Reform. But it might give Labour someone to blame so that Starmer can carry on believing that it isn't him and his policies alienating their own voters.

Pro Maduro

And rabidly anti-EU.
An unmitigated disaster and de-facto ally of the far right - as is anything that weakens centrist politics.

TeenagersAngst · 04/07/2025 09:00

Wonder if all the JC fans on here understand that he is very anti-EU?

But he did not appeal to a broad enough cross section of people. He had huge depth of appeal in some (quite wealthy middle class) parts of London, student cities and similar, but did not even try to appeal to people who weren't his fans. He spent all his time preaching to people who would chant 'Oooh Jeremy Corbyn' like he was a pop star and not enough time persuading others to vote for him. This farce with the new party just demonstrates his narcissism IMO. You have to work with the system you have, which is FPTP not the system you think you have.

RainbowBagels · 04/07/2025 09:09

The Greens are pretty radical Left now. In 2019 so were the Lib Dems. There is plenty of choice in the Left. That's why historically its been harder for them to form governments. Because the Left vote is so split.

ContactNightmare · 04/07/2025 09:18

It’s ridiculous- this party has been formed and two leaders are now competing to be the most virtuous narcissist. It will go nowhere.

There already is a harder left party.

The Workers Party with George Galloway. .

I mean for all Farages many faults, the man has charisma. JC has none.

I think you’re wrong.

So is Corbzy leading the party or not? On Wednesday night on Robert Pestons itv politics thing corb said he was in talks with ppl in "Southport Liverpool and Birmingham" and hinted at the Gaza independents maybe forming more than the informal agreement to vote on similar ways.

If earnest Zara genuinely does believe TWAW then it'll be great to hear her campaign for their acceptance, what with Trans women being the most persecuted people on the planet, and I'm sure the devout religiously motivated Gaza independents will be deeply moved by her pleas for their advancement

BIossomtoes · 04/07/2025 09:52

The vast majority of the population doesn’t give a stuff about the trans issue.

Lalgarh · 04/07/2025 09:55

But the people who do, absolutely do, and will Never Forget the actions of those proclaiming themselves as allies.

Fwiw, JC abstained a few years ago on a bill for self I.d. and was absolutely pilloried by his inclusive base on social media

BIossomtoes · 04/07/2025 09:52

It's about womens rights. And the vast majority of the population do care about womens rights.

I can assure you that the vast majority of the public care about men in women’s prisons, men in women’s sports, men in women’s refuges.

And whatever party she’s a member of, Zarah Sultana is obliged to uphold the law, and that includes the Equality Act.

Again, speaking to his audience. Glastonbury is not diverse racially or socially. It is filled with people like Jeremy Corbyn and people who are, have been and always will be, the radical Left- the wealthy, middle class intelligensia. No point being a svengali figure for people who will already be voting for you.

Well they could always unite under the Iranian and other Muslim country's mantra - 'better trans than gay'

Why is it ' morality' just because it's Jeremy Corbyn? The man has demonstrated he is nothing but a washed up egoist. He loves talking but can't face any difficult choices or decisions. Any terrorist organisation he can support, he will. He is not the solution to anything.

HarkerandBarker · 04/07/2025 15:55

Thought this video was interesting and fitting to this topic although it's not about JC. More about his followers.

Speaker on pm R4 news.

So Corbzy is still in discussions and his office is pointing back to Sultana's statement to point out not that she'd be co leading the party, but co leading the founding of the party with the sainted Jeremy Corbyn.

Karie Murphy from his office is supposedly involved, and the read out is that " it can't be a repeat of LOTO 2015-19" IE how he ran his office as leader of the opposition
