Who would you vote for in a general election tomorrow?

If the next GE was tomorrow, who would you vote for? I've been unimpressed at decisions made by Labour since they came in and just don't have much faith in their long term plans. I've never even considered voting Tory, but also don't really see Labour doing much more to improve things for anyone. Will be interesting to see how things are in a few years time when the next GE comes round. Am I missing some really good stuff Labour are implementing?

Whichever party stands the best chance of keeping Reform out for me. Ideologically I’m Green all the way.

Ah forgot about them. They didn’t make much effort in my constituency last election but would be willing to check them out.

Orangemintcream · 01/07/2025 19:25

Either Larry the Cat or spoil my ballot same as last time.

Orangemintcream · 01/07/2025 19:28

The damage Labour will do with the planning and infrastructure bill to nature alone - especially given the number of organisations that tried to offer advice on how to implement without causing harm who were ignored is awful.

Never ever again after the way they have behaved.

Portakalkedi · 01/07/2025 19:36

There's no party I support but perhaps Reform, pity they are not more established though. Tory and Labour are as bad as each other. The whole system needs massive reform, no pun intended.

Why would you vote for Reform?

Fringle · 01/07/2025 19:54

I’d vote Labour.

The strong, steady, thoughtful leadership they’ve provided is just what the country needs.

And the obvious ability of Starmer, Reeves, Lammy and Rayner is a breath of fresh air. So talented, all of them. Just look at the results so far!

Don’t listen to the naysayers! This is a government going places.

Please confirm this is satire?

I missed the satire first time but I think it must be, surely no one would say “so talented” about Starmer, Reeves, Lammy and Raynor with a straight face.

Not at all.

We’ve solved the Chagos issue, for £30bn and a veto for China’s mate Mauritius on military use.

There’s been talk of benefit reform. Talk is good, surely? Admittedly, there hasn’t been any reform. But Rome wasn’t built in a day, was it?

And the government’s cut back on air travel. Apart from the air travel that the Labour government has done.

The gangs have been smashed! There are just a few new and improved gangs. But they’ll be smashed too, just you see.

Oh yeah - corruption’s gone. No more freebies.

Most of all, the economic signs are fantastic. According to my friend who runs the local Labour branch. (“Bonghead Trot Trish” she’s amusingly known as.)

So all straight. No satire.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 01/07/2025 20:34

I just assumed it was a joke, the only thing Lammy is competent at is getting his eye watering restaurant bills though expenses.

Anyone butReform.

HouseholdBudget · 01/07/2025 21:10

LibDem.
But I live in a currently Labour seat, which had previously been Tory since the 1880s. It is naturally a right leaning area. Reform are already stoking the fires of racism, lying to people about a small cohort of legal immigrants having jumped the housing queue (they haven't). Lying about the same people taking over all the local TAs in the schools and being prioritised for places (not true). They got caught out spreading a lie that someone had been sexually assaulted by an immigrant, turned out the perpetrator was locally born. It is despicable.

Good to keep that head in the sand for a bit longer.

Head not in the sand. I am in a position locally, where I know they are lying. Not sure why my post out of all the others on this thread who are opposed to the rise of the hard right in this country got your attention though.

Because it is either an anomaly as to the way the rest of the UK is going or you are attempting to gaslight people.

Four years of Reform presiding over ten councils will undoubtedly reveal who’s doing the gaslighting.

Or. Hear me out. I am the one being honest. And Reform are gaslighting you into believing a small cohort of people who coincidentally aren't white are the problem.

I suppose people just need to trust their own eyes, their common sense and the facts. Your own small part of the country may be unusual but be completely as you say of course.

No, they only think that the great feminist Andrew Tate has a point!
