He's a conspiracy theorist in charge of US health.

Fluoride lowers IQ.

Great for tooth cavities, not so much for cognitive health. RFK wants to take it out of the water, what a bastard eh

How disingenuous. The study concerns high levels of fluoride, not just any exposure, against decreased cognitive development.

Did you also note that 52 out of 74 studies, 70%, were considered to have a high risk of bias?

Similarly, oxygen causes organ failure, seizures and death (if the air you're breathing contains too much of it).

E.g. most vital or beneficial substances for human health can cause damage if consumed at too high a concentration.

It’s interesting that posters who were previously so keen to rip apart any false information are suddenly so quiet when faced with actual disinformation.

Alexandra2001 · 09/04/2025 06:47

..and what could be right wing than supporting Tommy Robinson and wanting him out of jail...

MushMonster · 09/04/2025 06:50

He has gone ahead and imposed yet more tariffs!

I just cannot believe it!

Trump has said his Tariffs will be "legendry"

He will be proved right on that!!!

MushMonster · 09/04/2025 07:18

Yeah, indeed. They are already a legend! The world will not forget this one, for a long long time. I actually think the investment and trust on US may be reduced and lost for well over Trump's stay in the WH.

I hear Trump has stunningly healthy teeth.

Alexandra2001 · 09/04/2025 07:27

I just don't understand his thinking, he is wrecking US workers pensions, going to vastly increase the prices on imported goods and raw materials...

Destroy export markets for US goods...

The Chinese have the right idea, put Tariffs on US goods, yes it will make matters worse in the short term BUT if the RoW do nothing, Trump will just carry on pushing his weight around...

He needs to go or what will be next?

theholidaymum · 09/04/2025 07:55

For China, anything over 35% tariffs would wipe out their margins. A 104% or 50% tariffs are just sympolic and gives no weight.

I am starting to wonder what the fuck it will take before someone says ‘enough’?

TopPocketFind · 09/04/2025 10:52

Start calling it The Trump Recession could be a start?

Igotjelly · 09/04/2025 11:21

I suspect it’s now in so deep that the necessary people will only say “enough” when it’s past the point of being able to pull it back. The institutions are being ransacked and the rule of law rendered meaningless. We’re so far past a constitutional crisis that it’s scary.

Jabtastic · 09/04/2025 11:25

I am slightly amused that even Musk has abandoned the asylum to try and rebuild the burnt remains of his reputation and business.

TopPocketFind · 09/04/2025 12:22

Trump enjoys it immensely that countries are kissing his arse.

In response to the latest Trump tariffs, the Chinese government announces they will increase tariffs on all US goods from 34% to 84%.

I don't think reciprocal tariffs are the right idea. I do think we, and everyone else should jstart looking at alternative markets sharpish. That includes defence spending, which cannot be entrusted anymore to the US or US companies. All Trump wants with his Tariffs is for countries to go crawling to the US and beg him to end the tariffs. He wants to do deals that are shitty for everyone else and only favour the US, and he thinks that by weakening other economies, he is more likely to be able to do that. He wants the UK and the EU to drastically lower their environmental, animal welfare, food hygiene and safety standards so the US can have access to the European and UK markets. He's doing what he tried to do to Ukraine and force them to agree to basically asset strip their entire country in perpetuity in return for helping them. We need to do what he claims to want, and be more self sufficient. That means cooperating with Europe on defence (buying UK and European equipment like France) and working with European and other markets like Canada, Australia, India etc. Leave the US to it. They will be the ones paying the tariffs if they want the goods.

Cornettoninja · 09/04/2025 14:18

I’m wondering at what point states start to consider declaring independence from the USA. I think there was a state that briefly toyed with the idea a couple of years ago.

Yes of course we need other markets and untie our selves from the US but we also need to isolate the USA..... allowing them to carry on selling to us, whilst the RoW cannot or becomes uncompetitive, is not the way to deal with Trump.

He'll laugh at you, as he has with his recent speech "Kiss my arse" and the "they are all begging for deals" bullshit....

Give Trump an inch and he will take a mile....

Its interesting to see that Sterling is falling sharply against the Euro, the markets see us being very weak outside of the EU don't they.

Tomatotater · 09/04/2025 14:54

Yes I do wonder how the Japanese and South Koreans ( the only people revealed to be going to the US to renegotiate tariffs) feel about being described as 'begging' and 'kissing his Ass!' They are a notoriously proud people. I doubt their delegation and electorate will be happy about being mocked like that.

Alexandra2001 · 09/04/2025 14:59

EU announce tariffs on some goods, to come in on 15th April... subject to talks... Good... though they'll have to go further...just hope the UK falls in behind the EU.

@Tomatotater Yes looks like Trump is attempting to humiliate, what an arsehole!

All i can say is wtf is the rest of America doing to allow this lunatic to tear up the world trading system?

I was listening to a podcast this morning (apologies I’ve listened to a few today and can’t remember which one!) and it was talking about the fact that it’s unusual for Americans (and would be true of other westerners) to be content to accept short term pain for potential gain for others. Talking explicitly about MAGA followers ans their assertion that they’re fine with short term pain. In Asian countries however like Korea, Japan and China it’s far more common and accepted that you might need to sacrifice for the benefit of the wider society.

Omg. Has he actually said 'kiss his ass'? I hope he doesn't show up there unguarded...
