Is anyone following what's happening here?

Liberal-leaning judge Ann Walsh Bradley has retired, triggering a competition between Brad Schimel (conservative) and Susan Crawford (liberal). The Republicans, especially Musk, have thrown themselves heavily on Schimel's side. Schimel himself is distancing himself from Musk, saying 'I have no idea what he's doing'.

Is what Musk is doing really legal? Is he getting away with breaking the law because of his vast wealth and Trump's support, or is this kind of thing on the outer edge of normality in America? What do Americans think of it?

I wasn't really "following" it, but I was aware of it, and perturbed. I, too was wondering about the legality of Musk's bribery.

But the exciting result, which you probably know, is that Musk's guy lost, and lost substantially! The winner, in her acceptance speech, got a nice laugh on saying, "As a little girl growing up in Chippewa Falls, I never could have imagined I’d be taking on the richest man in the world."

Yes, an amazing result. Musk was trying to spin it as a win because voter ID passed, and that suddenly became the most important thing!

I hope it's a good omen, that Musk won't be able to buy every election in the world.
