Probably being ignored by the US administration after this comments on Trump over the years.

Really was the wrong person for the job.

He was seen coming out of the venue last night after Trump's speach by Sky News. He didn't comment. I think he just said the speach was interesting.

I hope he can help us! I think he was actually a good choice for ambassador - he has political acumen and lots of experience and is clearly good at building relationships. He’s always struck me as kind of weaselly and sly, but hopefully those attributes will stand him in good stead in this incredibly difficult situation.

I hope this too. Not a fan of the man but I also think he has the right skills here. But it could be that no one can help.

Who would want his job?? Trying to keep a relationship in the face of trump’s daily mad rants. I think it will be pretty impossible. Trump hates anyone who doesn’t 100% agree with him. He only cares about himself and supposedly the US (but just for white, rich, straight men) doesn’t do diplomacy and none of his underlings will dare to try even if they wanted to.

Poor Charles will have to suck it up and entertain him on the state visit they announced today.

I think KC will be happy to be a part of such an important situation. He has always struck me as someone who wants to be relevant.

PM was with KS today in the USA. Our ambassador works behind the scenes. They are not normally a political appointment. He’s there to smooth out the worst aspects of Trump. KC and QC will have to hold their noses now! Like the rest of us!
