To be fair, I did see people I follow posting that is was a nazi salute (walks like a duck and all that). The algorithm doesn’t seem to have suppressed those but it did present to me a lot of posts supporting him.

That's silly. Sometimes it seems like people really, deep down, want other people to be closet racists.

It certainly looks like a Nazi salute. But there are reasons to think that it's unlikely, too. He's supported Jewish people and causes in the past. Which isn't really in line with being a Nazi.

And he is seriously awkward and weird and socially unaware at the best of times. Not just a little bit, a lot.

IMO it's kind of a wash, I could see this meaning any number of different things, or nothing, coming from him.

The other question is, if it is meant to be a Nazi salute, would the Trump administration, or Trump himself, support that? I don't think so - I think they are committed to support of Israel, and I don't think Trump is bothered by Jewish people or Judaism personally. They have some support from the Jewish community right now which they seem keen to keep.

If Musk were to decide to go in that direction it's very likely to be a wedge between him and the government. Though I think that is likely to happen in any case eventually, Musk is too much a globalist to fit in well with some of the things the Trump government is likely to pursue.

Have people on here actually not seen the full video (rather than the deceptively edited one) or are they genuinely pretending that the context of him saying to the crowd ‘my heart goes out to you’ , then sticking his hand over his heart and ‘throwing’ it to the crowd isn’t relevant?

Even is he has autism etc. Please stop saying these excuses for his actions. He is a billionaire who help crafts his every move and interaction. He is the father of 14 children. He believes in procreation as is his right. But he has earned zero chair at the table, of the now new president other than he's a rich sociopath, who is now seemingly running the US.

These are interesting, because its clear that they are using this gesture as a way of describing something that they are saying during a speech, not a way of greeting a crowd. They are also two people that haven't expressed extreme views on where others belong i.e. immigration.

I watched the video and it is an odd and unnatural gesture especially as it is one handed, but in my opinion it feels like it hasn't been rehearsed, but was spontaneous and is not natural action like the people who did actually did this gesture to assign their allegience to fascism.

It is concerning to see people fall into the same mistakes they made during Trump’s first Presidency. I would have hoped lessons were learned so that if a situation arises that merits criticism of Trump his critics have maintained their legitimacy and not wasted it on easily disprovable clickbait like this.

No it is not a fascist salute and this is a manufactured controversy. The actual antisemites have been marching weekly vowing the end of the only jewish state in the world and directly threatening jewish citizens in western countries. Musk has done more for jews than the utterly silly people on this thread.
