Trump’s Plan to Reduce Immigration

Does anyone have any ideas about exactly how Trump is going to do this?
He arranged for a wall to be built between the US and Mexico to stop a lot of the drug gangs, etc coming through but whilst Trump has not been in power the gates have been open and 10 million people have migrated to the US I believe

Just interested to know what his plan might be now, apart from shutting the gates, LOL

Trump is planning major vicious raids to round up immigrants, and will likely shove them into detention camps. Shades of Hitler! He says he'll deport them, but from what I understand, it's not quite as easy as that.

The funny part is, it shows Trump's own stupidity and his tendency to prefer performative showmanship over substance, and cruelty over practicality. If he really wanted to get rid of illegal immigrants, instead of wasting money and manpower on flamboyant round-ups, all he'd have to do is quietly levy crippling fines against any corporate employer employing them.

Trump's wall was never built, by the way. I can't tell from your post if you're aware of that.

Yes. There are about 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US. He said that he's going to declare a state of emergency and get the military to round people up.He's going to build huge detention centres to house them.

He and his team have spoken of denaturalisation of American citizens and deporting families even if some of them are citizens. They also want to stop citizenship at birth.

It's going to be incredibly expensive and impossible to carry out because there aren't the necessary resources. The immigration courts have big backlogs, there aren't enough specialised staff and I can imagine the human rights challenges.

and kind-of forcing canada in on the plan by levying a 25% tax on all exports from canada to the us (our major trading partner with which we trade 70% of all our products) for not taking care of our border and not paying into nato enough. however this being said a majority of canadians are very pleased with the government being forced to improve border control and illegal immigration here as well and everyone agrees on the increased defense spending (everyone except trudeau).

Besides its being expensive and impossible, I believe it's also illegal. I think it's forbidden to use the military domestically like that.
Of course, Trump is famous for wanting to resort to solutions that are illegal.
