Edited: WHO do you think! 🤦‍♀️

I know there have been various threads about both candidates and policies, but thought it might be interesting to see peoples opinions via a straight shooting poll. Go!

No doubt they will shoot up a load of innocent school children again too.

I don't understand the terror in some over abortion, to the point that they are going around beeping cars and giving a finger to a random priest.

I also don't understand why those who want body autonomy think other women should have to put up with creeps in women's spaces? I would rather the rape/pregnancy did not happen in the first place, thus keep the creeps out, (so there wouldn't be a requirement for abortion) if you aren't disrobed around one of the creeps who takes his chances.

You think the only women who want an abortion are those raped in public places? Really?

Lol. So a random priest on some Laurence Fox thing claims a random man gave him the finger and we're supposed to take that as equivalent to men legislating women's bodies and reproductive health? That's equal to women dying due to lack of abortion in cases of miscarriage?

I'm sorry, but this is idiocy.

Abilests can move to blue states and abort away, even under Trump.

I lived in a country that banned all abortion for a very long time. A family member just delivered the baby early and was not treated badly at all when it died.

The UK has had legalised abortion for a long time and yet still 1 in 17 abortions are at home, so it didn't end backstreet abortion being legalised.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 05/11/2024 14:04

@AnotherHotDrink where are you getting your stats from? The NHS website states that If a woman is less than 10 weeks pregnant she may be able to have a medical a portion at home... is that what you're referring to when you refer to 1 in 17 abortions being at home? So... it may be that the at home abortions are legal. Not backstreet.

Anyway... don't want to derail the thread. Please, please, please let Harris win.

Don’t think so. There were just 18 cases of procuring an illegal abortion in the UK last year. Where does the 1 in 17 figure come from?

Illegal abortion offences England and Wales 2024 | Statista

In 2023/24 there were 18 instances of 'procuring illegal abortion' offences in England and Wales, compared with 13 in the previous year.

why would they want to move to another state, silly?

they deserve access to abortion in their own state 😊

DrizzleMySwizzle · 05/11/2024 14:34

Plus given half a chance the Republicans will try and enforce a federal ban

People think that they deserve access to single sex spaces in their own state also.

You will have to move to the state that best fits your beliefs.

I am above average IQ, like most of the population I don't have a mega IQ, Why are you disability shaming me out of interest?

SallyWD · 05/11/2024 14:56

I was thinking Trump would win but I now think Harris will scrape through. I hope so. It's very close. Whatever happens there's going to be trouble.

dottiehens · 05/11/2024 15:00

I do not want to vote so who is winning in MN?

HARRIS - 53% to 47%.

dottiehens · 05/11/2024 15:15

Thanks! It could well be similar tomorrow.
My hope is for people coming together and understanding that a unite country will be stronger and better. I do not like either candidate btw. Hence not voting in this poll.

That is the question but won’t be surprised is Kamala. Either of them won’t be as bad as people are saying. It is a bit mental on both sides.

I genuinely apologise. I shouldn't have said that, it is not something I would say to someone in person, whether intellectually able or not.

The equating of celebrities threatening to move out of the country with raped 13 year olds being forced to carry their rapist's child distressed me along with the casual assurances women can just move states at will.

Again, I'm sorry.

It's a stressful day, feelings are high as you say x

I am no Trump fan, I just don't want my American minor family sterilised and mutilated by the Harris administration.
