Has anyone seen our PM?

No tweets since 27 September, and he (his account) is an active and regular poster/reporter)

I didn't see him on morning TV today, which considering the ground invasion I thought we might.

However I have been working, so maybe I missed him? Anyone seen him?

Parliament isn't sitting and it's the conference season. Labour's conference ended on 25th, and it's the Tories this week, so I think it's pretty typical to have a little lull right now.

Next sitting begins 6 October.

Zonder · 01/10/2024 11:40

He was on TV 6 days ago. It's not normal for the PM to be on TV with every bit of news - the norm would be for different issues to be dealt with by different ministers.

I think with the massive characters of the past few years we have got used to the PM permanently being visible, for all kinds of reasons. That's not how it would normally be.

It was speculated on x that he has taken out a super injunction and is fighting for his post. There are lots of rumors about why.

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2024 11:51

He is meeting with the European Commission president in Brussels tomorrow.

He is also busy with the situation in Lebanon and today retweeted a post from David Lammy.

You might want to check the source for that nonsense.

The guy has already deleted his tweet

It is a bit like a weather house during conference season - when one of the major parties is having theirs, the others (including the governing party) tend to pipe down. It's one of the rare remaining courtesies of political life.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 01/10/2024 11:55

There is quite a lot going on in the world right now. Maybe he is a bit busy?

Gochestergo717 · 01/10/2024 11:57

Good for him, he is presumably getting on with the job instead of being concerned with PR appearances.

Some people will believe anything 🤦‍♀️

Perzival · 01/10/2024 12:02

I just find it comical especially as he painted himself as morally superior and it turns out he's just as bad.

NunyaBeeswax · 01/10/2024 12:06

Hes likely sheltering from the rain at Lord Allis pad...

It's very important that he and his kids remain dry and not to get rained on. They can't possibly avoid the rain at Number 10 and the boss a friend offered then the use of the very dry and water proof penthouse suite.

worthofbostworlds · 01/10/2024 12:42

Yes, saw him in Poundland about an hour ago.

Seems fine, just busy.

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2024 13:47

Here you go @MrsRobinsonsHandprints

https://x.com/Keir_Starmer/status/1841088129387622637

Speaking with those who have lost loved ones and have family members still held hostage in Gaza, I reaffirmed my government’s commitment to do everything we can to keep alive the memory of those who were killed and to bring the hostages home.

Needmorelego · 01/10/2024 13:48

He's got a new kitten to play with.

Has anyone seen our PM?
SidekickSylvia · 01/10/2024 14:08

The kitten is gorgeous.

Keir's spectacles don't suit him.

justasking111 · 01/10/2024 16:49

He's busy whizzing around abroad on business I thought while parliament was shut down.

Keir's spectacles don't suit him.

But they were free, so there is that.

FortunataTagnips · 01/10/2024 18:10

He was probably too busy addressing the UN General Assembly to hit you up on the socials.

This made me laugh

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2024 21:30

I take it you saw him giving a statement on the Middle East on the news this evening?

justasking111 · 01/10/2024 21:34

I saw the shadow foreign secretary giving a statement at tea time.

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2024 21:46

Keir Starmer was on just after 8.30pm

Rummly · 01/10/2024 21:48

I can’t see any reason for Starmer to be elbowing his way on to the news or the GMB sofa at the moment. He must be pretty busy, given events.

I just hope the work he’s undoubtedly putting in means that David Lammy is kept well away from any meaningful decisions or statements.

Don’t worry, he’s got others.
Apparently.
