Should the U.K. just buy back America?

After the Supreme Court decision mostly favoring Trump, that ruled that presidents mostly have immunity, it's clear that America has abandoned the basic idea that America didn't want a king, that no one was above the law.

Well, if that's gone, maybe the U.K. should just scoop up America again.

Good luck affording it.

Pallisers · 02/07/2024 03:03

Almost 250 years after independence the ex-boyfriend still thinks you are wondering about him.

and the idea of the UK scooping up another country... cute - oh wait, not. Not considering how many countries and cultures the UK "scooped up" for so many years.

Newnamehiwhodis · 02/07/2024 03:50

Yes, please. (I’m an American. Will you take me back?) 🤣

bananaphon · 02/07/2024 03:51

No!

CanadianJohn · 02/07/2024 03:59

The US is so divided internally that the only thing that would bring the country together would be a foreign invasion. The thing is, what country would be stupid enough to take on American problems...

XChrome · 02/07/2024 04:33

Why would they want it? Nobody wants to take custody of the Trumpers.

DonaldJohnTrump · 02/07/2024 04:59

Methinks it is the other way around.

OpheliaLibra · 02/07/2024 05:31

California alone has a higher GDP than the entire UK (3.9 vs. 3.3), so good luck with that.

You've actually hit on the correct answer by accident. The US occupies entirely scooped-up land, so the right thing is for it to abolish itself.

I suppose the OP thinks they are being lighthearted and funny but during the whole brexit saga and the Ireland border issue there were actually insane comments about how we should be made to join up with the UK.

PortiasBiscuit · 02/07/2024 07:30

Nah, what we need is a full scale alien invasion. Then Samuel L. Jackson can be president and they”ll all pull together to save the world.

PortiasBiscuit · 02/07/2024 07:31

Can’t get my head around Borden’s family though, you think they’d want to protect him.. he should be pottering round with a pair of secateurs.

Meadowfinch · 02/07/2024 07:32

No thanks. All those loonies, conspiracy theorists, flat earthers and guns.

I can think of a million things we could spend our money on and have much more fun.

OhYoko · 02/07/2024 07:35

Da da da da da, da da da da dey a da....

Zonder · 02/07/2024 07:38

I think we have enough troubles of our own. Gve it back to its original people.

Borden? .. Biden.

Borden was a totally different kettle of fish!

Yep you might need to get a bigger credit card op

CroftonWillow · 02/07/2024 07:53

It's overvalued.

Lalalacrosse · 02/07/2024 07:55

I’m impressed that you think we could afford it. (Spoiler: we can’t)

user876 · 02/07/2024 07:56

Anyone seen the movie Civil War?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 02/07/2024 08:08

We don't seem to be able to afford to fill in pot-holes in our roads and, I think off the top of my head, America would probably cost a tad more.

cheezncrackers · 02/07/2024 08:09

Good God! Don't we have enough problems?

capitanaamerica · 02/07/2024 08:09

I heard that Gavin Robinson is planning to buy it with the proceeds of the investments from the Magical Money Tree he got from Theresa May.

Hazeby · 02/07/2024 08:33

Hmmm. I mean I’d want the Hollywood movies and the massive burgers but not the guns and the politicians. Can we buy it and sell it for parts?

Exactly, @CanadianJohn. Or, alternatively, an invasion from outer space, like, appropriately, the movie "Independence Day.
