How many leaflets?

Admittedly, we do have 4 voting adults in the house now, but how many bloody political leaflets do we need? We had ten this morning, on top of the at least 5 or 6 per day that we have been receiving for weeks. I reckon we’re running at over 100 now and they all go straight into the recycling.
Think of the postal costs!
Think of the trees!

Agreed.

These people are so needy. Clearly never heard of playing it cool.

DinnaeFashYersel · 01/07/2024 13:23

I'm guessing you live in a contested swing seat and the free posts have all just landed.

sleepercellspy · 01/07/2024 13:24

One, Reform. 🙄

SleepingisanArt · 01/07/2024 13:24

We've had a grand total of 1. From the Liberal Democrats. No other party has been bothered which is stupid considering our 'local' MP changed when the constituency boundaries were re-drawn recently (so isn't the one they all voted for last time). We are now on the farthest edge of the constituency so they probably don't give us a 2nd thought....

RandomUsernameHere · 01/07/2024 13:35

Agree, any form of unsolicited junk mail should be banned in my opinion. It's such a waste of paper.

Shyshay · 01/07/2024 15:09

All the Leaflets here! All of them!

NetballHoop · 01/07/2024 15:21

We're in a Tory stronghold that just might turn Liberal. The Liberals are the only ones who have leafleted us.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 01/07/2024 15:35

We've had the most from the Greens which seems somewhat against their principles. I hate the ones addressed to my first name the most - you don't know me!!

SausageRoll2020 · 01/07/2024 16:18

We're in a safe seat so have had hardly any, none of them bother.

We had a couple the other day but they were for a neighbouring constituency 🤦🏻‍♀️

HoneysuckleYears · 01/07/2024 23:04

we got our first 'stop the boats' this morning.
I no longer, amidst the hellscape of decay in my town can understand how anyone thinks this is useful.

I was alife long labour voter, yet now I am not fond. I can ever so slightly jive with the lib dems, but I would much prefer proportional representation - all parties in power with selected representatives. Other than that, our political system is too problematic. I really don't like the toxic 'left/right' press, nor the idea that either of them are going to make good. It's all just power really. A broad swoop of representation wouldn't line enough political pockets.

Saying this, I will raise a drink and thank the stars if I see the tories go at last, regardless.

urbanbuddha · 01/07/2024 23:19

2 from the Tory, 1 weeks ago from the Lib Dems, 1 from Labour, 1 from an independent. There are 10 candidates so it’s not many leaflets really.

Againname · 02/07/2024 01:34

I'm in a marginal seat so expected a bit of effort but I was wrong.

No door knockers and just two leaflets. One from the Conservative few weeks ago and finally got one today from Labour.

That's it. No door knockers, and no leaflets from any of the other parties.

Onacuctustree · 02/07/2024 01:41

We are in a newly made constituency.
We used to be in a rural area... Now we are in a city.
We have had many many leaflets. And a car with a loud speaker spouting Reform stuff.
It will be very interesting to see how the vote goes. Predictions say Labour. It's currently... Both the old and new, Conservative.

user1471453601 · 02/07/2024 01:50

Two for Labour. Non from anyone else. Adult child was responsible for pushing leaflets through doors in our area (for Labour) and decided not to put any through our door. Two members of the party and one supporter in our house.

It's interesting to me, having been around for many elections, just how targeted the Labour campaign is. My constituency is twinned with one adjacent I us, which also happens to be the only Tory held seat around here, at the moment. So we've been encouraged to canvass in that constituency as Well as our own. And Ange Raynor visited that constituency too. So, Well done McSweeny and Macfadden - 10 out of 10 for organisation.

The Lib Dems haven't even fielded a candidate that lives anywhere close to here, so they clearly don't think they are in with a shout. No one has knocked on our door, but then, we do have vote Labour posters in most of our windows.

Oh, and door knocking has been forbidden during England games in the Euros.

Darklane · 02/07/2024 13:11

Two. By independent candidates. None of the main parties are contesting the Speaker. We’re virtually disenfranchised

readingmakesmehappy · 02/07/2024 13:15

5 Lib Dem, 2 Labour (incumbent), 1 Green, 1 Tory, 2 independent.

Tortielady · 03/07/2024 00:06

We are in a swing seat, which will probably go from blue to red on Friday morning. We've had a few leaflets and a direct mailing from the incumbent and enough bumpf from his Labour opponent to paper the walls, plus some leaflets from the Lib Dems and Greens and one or two from Reform. Depending on how you see it, we have the bare minimum or an elegant sufficiency of five candidates - no independents, Count Binface etc for us!

obsessedwithfreshbread · 03/07/2024 00:37

Had 1 direct mail as the local MP helped us on a specific issue so had my DH's details... other than that absolutely nothing.

Wedoourbest · 03/07/2024 00:44

Lib Dem’s in our very strong Tory constituency. Good for them…they will probably get my vote!!
