Educated guesses on the future of the Tories?

I am curious on what happens to the Tories if (when) they lose the general election.

Even if Rishi Sunak keeps his seat, there's no way he'll keep the leadership. So who takes over? And if Nigel Farage wins his seat in Clacton do you think he'll cross the floor to the Tories to be welcomed by a more right-wing Conservative Party?

Lots of infighting as they all blame each other. Rishi off to California. Far right tories may split the party. Maybe a stump of more centrist tories trying to say they are the real tory party.
I am torn between looking forward to watching them all squirming and turning on each other and on the other hand feeling worried about the rise of populism and the way Trump’s ability to fool swathes of American voters with absolute lies, undermining the media and getting away with actual criminal behaviour is infecting the UK with what is now seemingly acceptable political behaviour.

Completely agree. I find it fascinating that the Tory reaction to this election will likely be to move further right. They're more concerned about the voters they lose to Reform than Labour or the LibDems. I had been looking forward to watching them fall apart entirely but I am now very nervous about a likely shift to more populist, Trump, Farage style politics. We will all lose from that.

Agree, I'm feeling very nervous that they'll form some sort of coalition with Farage and Reform. This will mean when it's not all a rose garden for Labour (which it won't be because the Tories have taken 14 years to get us in this mess, it will take more than 5 years to fix it) then come the next election they will be there with their easy answers and blaming immigrants and may well be able to persuade large numbers to vote for them. It's actually really scary 😩
