Or have Labour totally lost the plot wrt women’s rights?

Does Starmer really underestimate women this much??

‘Would you vote for a party that promised to let men parade around bollock-naked in women’s changing rooms?

Or a party that was alarmingly blasé about gay kids being ‘corrected’ with drugs and surgery?

Or a party that threatened to clamp down on thoughtcriminals who refer to people with penises and testicles – you know, men – as men?

If not, then don’t vote Labour in the upcoming General Election. Because it’s possible it will pursue all of these petty tyrannical policies’

Tyranny in drag

It is high time we dismantled the phoney progressive rhetoric of the woke agenda.

How many times. This is not about ‘trans hate’. This is about the erosion of women’s rights. About women and girls safety, health, opportunities.

Men and only men benefit from the destruction of these social norms. Women are girls are being fcked over, as always.

This is what it’s all about. Not trans this or that. This is about women’s rights. Trans people like all people should be treated with dignity and respect - but not at the expense of women’s rights. Not today, not ever.

Yeah, but the whole conversation gets taken over very quickly with a discussion about trans. It happens every time. And the needs of women and children get forgotten (and both sides of the trans debate do this). It would be great if trans wasn't brought in to every single thread here.

how very patronising

i have friends who have trans kids, my children have trans friends. Trans people are, by and large, not the predators you’re making them out to be. Almost all of them just want to live their life in the way that makes them feel comfortable

The talk here is always about M2f transition but there’s also a lot of f2m transition which is utterly ignored. The safety of trans people is ignored. Do they not deserve to be safe too?

This is about women's sex-based rights and their safety. Letting men into women's single sex spaces isn't safe for women.

If transwomen think they need a space to be safe which isn't the space designated for their sex, they need a third space, not to be let into the women's single sex space. Transmen are welcome in the women's spaces as they're women.

CaterhamReconstituted · 13/03/2024 18:33

Nobody has said anything about trans people being predators. But the fact is that if you allow men to enter women’s spaces, you allow ALL men to do so, including the predators.

How do you allow all men to enter women’s spaces. What spaces are we talking about?

Of course women and children are not forgotten. Women are speaking up for these groups.

Prisons, refuges, rape crisis centres, hospital wards, toilets, changing rooms. Plus sports.

Transwomen are men. They need to stay out of all of the above.

Grapesarenottheonlyfruit · 13/03/2024 18:41

@Lion400 F**ck me you’ve got Tories refusing to condemn a Tory supporting donor who spewed misogynistic, racist and threatening bollocks about a female MP and you’re concerned about labour not knowing what a woman is ? 😂😂

CaterhamReconstituted · 13/03/2024 18:43

LoveSandbanks · 13/03/2024 18:37

Single-sex spaces like toilets and changing rooms, which exist to protect women’s safety, privacy and dignity. Incidentally they also protect men too - men’s reputations. A good and decent man understands it is forbidden for him to enter a woman’s toilet. So if a man does violate the space he can be challenged. We are now unpicking all this. If a man is allowed to enter a woman’s changing room just because he says he is woman, even if he has the appearance of a man and has a penis, then any man can come in unchallenged. And sexual predators (not necessarily trans people) will take advantage of this. It would be naive to think that they won’t.

Runningwildish · 13/03/2024 18:43

Well under the Tories we have the Cass report and NHS England have stopped issuing children with puberty blockers so I'd say the Tories are doing a lot for safeguarding vulnerable children. And the Labour have not been cheering it on. Just see what Angela Eagle said this week, she'll make stating biological reality a hate crime

Not really. Trans has overtaken everything. (On MN anyway). And realistically, it's way, way down the list of what an average woman would spend time worrying about. Food/heat/clothes/house/job/childcare. Trans wouldn't feature really.

When you talk about ‘trans’ you’re looking at it from a male focus

We’re talking about women’s sex based rights

And the impact on dc

The recent decision to stop puberty blockers is a good example of stopping harm to children

No it hasn't. There are many, many posts on here about protecting women and children. To say there aren't is either disingenuous or lying.

Please don't be so impertinent as to tell me how I perceive anything thank you. You are choosing to ignore my point, up to you, but I'll have my own opinion.

Grapesarenottheonlyfruit · 13/03/2024 18:53

@NoWordForFluffy what’s your opinion on the Tory response to the Diane Abbot debacle ?
What’s your opinion on the overall record of the Tories in government ? Is the UK in a great state, thriving ?
One female Tory MP wants women to give up work and have more children, she thinks women are ‘too educated’, also has issues with abortion. Do you think she supports all women ?

What's that got to do with what Labour's stance is? 🤷‍♀️ Or me, even?

It was you who said first that no one cares about women and children

It’s so incredibly far off what women are doing, and who they are speaking up for

EasternEcho · 13/03/2024 18:55

I'm not in the UK, but from reading all your threads this seems like a distracting tactic. A party that says well, you'll still be laying on the A&E floor for 3 days, but at least there won't be someone with a penis in the ladies'.

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 13/03/2024 18:55

Yep
Respect my sex if you want my X

CrappySack · 13/03/2024 18:56

People keep bringing up to Tories because they keep posting in here and on other forums saying the same thing about Labour.

As if they think it will make everyone forget that they have an abysmal record when it comes to women, children, disabled people, healthcare, quality of life etc etc.

I think I said that people were getting obsessed with trans to the detriment of the actual day to day injustices that are being perpetuated against women and children now.

Exactly!

Most people I know are voting whoever gets the Tories out.

Are you ok with self ID and puberty blockers for children?

And males in female sports and refuges

Out of interest

I don't owe you an answer either way. If you can recall, my point was that real and urgent conversations about issues that will affect women now, tonight are getting derailed by all the trans stuff.
