Him and Sunak are sometime before Christmas apparently.

Boris Johnson's waffle and bluster isn't going to wash with this KC.

I hope we get to the truth.

Even if we do the gutter press will cover it up. Look how little they care now, much more worried about Keirs poppy.

Nadine Dorries already has the "big boy made me do it" excuse out there.

StillWantingADog · 04/11/2023 09:19

I want to see Hancock personally

verdantverdure · 04/11/2023 12:42

Yes, People are going to have to be much smarter than they were al the other times Boris Johnson lied to them about Brexit and all the covid rules being adhered to in Number 20 @Iwantmyoldnameback

verdantverdure · 08/11/2023 05:18

It doesn't matter when he's scheduled to give evidence.

He'll just lie.

Again.

Jeffjefftyjeff · 08/11/2023 06:13

Whatever week it is, prepare for some massive alternative ‘news’ story conjured up by the Tory press/ minions to try and detract attention

I think he's already given evidence

Unfortunately this, time and time again.

I’ve just seen this thread. This Inquiry is supposed to highlight what we need to do better in the future. The electorate not electing people like Johnson would be a start. However I’m with Lord Sumption on this. Unless we look beyond retribution and blame, we learn nothing. It’s far more important to learn about why other countries did better. How could we ensure children are not so badly affected regarding their development? Should younger people lock down? Was it the best idea to halt the economy? Did we spend in the right areas? What could we do differently for a better outcome? Should scientists (medics) be the only people listened to? There’s so much more to learn than purely casting Johnson as the villain.

AutumnCrow · 13/11/2023 23:43

The inquiry is made up of multiple 'modules', @TizerorFizz, that will be looking at all these matters.

I was surprised when I read articles last week by Sumption and Hitchens that they didn't appear to be aware of this. The inquiry won't conclude till 2025, it is estimated.

TizerorFizz · 13/11/2023 23:44

I think they were concerned that certain elements would be overlooked. Thought provoking articles though. We do need to be better prepared!

It's not blame.

It's finding out what actually happened because Boris Johnson and his government relentlessly lied to us about all of it.

TizerorFizz · 14/11/2023 16:12

Yes but lies do not allow for a better response in the future. It’s what we do to try and avoid another catastrophe. Not who lied and who swore all the time. That doesn’t inform planning and it’s sadly of little use to the public.

upinaballoon · 14/11/2023 22:35

He is some time before Christmas apparently.

Sunak is some time before Christmas apparently.

That will be an exciting early Christmas present to us all then!

I'm hanging on to my fabric masks in case I'm still alive when the next time comes. Would keeping good supplies of PPE, which is checked regularly to make sure it's up to date and useable, be a good idea?

I believe I've heard Mr. Hunt say that he was responsible for some things not being tip-top, because he'd been Health Minister for a while, in earlier years.

You are excited about it.
I am excited about it.
You and I are excited about it.
They are excited about it.
You and I and they are excited about it.

I'll be so busy hanging on Boris's every word that I won't have time to think about pronouns or get the baubles up.

TizerorFizz · 15/11/2023 23:30

Im not that excited!

TravelInHope · 28/11/2023 13:55

I think the British people have had enough of experts.

covid19.public-inquiry.uk/public-hearings/module-2-public-hearings-timetable/

Depends on who is being called when in which module. You can find more information on this site but precise details aren't released all that far in advance.

MidnightOnceMore · 08/11/2023 06:56

Hancock's evidence from June

That was in module 1, about preparedness. Now we are on Module 2. Hancock is due to appear for three sessions on Thursday and Friday of this week, if I remember rightly.

The British people have had enough of politicians who think we've had enough of experts.
