If there was a GE today who would you vote for?

Bit cheeky but I’m curious to see if there are genuinely any Tory voters out there at all following another disastrous week for Rishi Sunak.

So who would get your vote?

I‘ll go first, I would vote Labour. As much as I would love to hear more on policy and a firm grittiness from them, I do understand that Keir Starmer is doing the best he can, in that he can’t alienate a large proportion of the electorate so needs to toe the line.

@jgw1 oh come on.

Sorry what?

Agree. The politicians with the patter are the most deceitful yet people can't see through the public persona.

Luckily Sunak doesn't have a public persona, so we can all happily trust and vote for him.

UselessGardener · 23/09/2023 21:23

I'm voting Tory. I can't see Labour doing anything even vaguely helpful to anyone but as they're currently tipped to win the GE I suppose people will need to find out the hard way.

PoseasRadicalActuallyMisogynistic · 23/09/2023 21:23

The Tories all the way. Woman = adult human female

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2023 21:24

Labour.

I have scrolled through the answers because if I read a single “the only party that knows what a woman is” post I will scream.

Exactly, the Labour party has for the past 13 years eroded the rights of women and indeed everyone else with the policies they have implemented.

Fear not, I got to that on page 1.

Keir had a beer.

Oooooft · 23/09/2023 21:26

I'm in Scotland... what I vote means practically nothing in the grand scheme of things but on principle I'd vote Greens.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2023 21:28

Honestly. Anyone who thinks the Tories give one single flying FUCK about women’s rights is deluded. And if they are so hot on gender issues, how come, after 13 years of Tory rule, we are where we are.

Vinvertebrate · 23/09/2023 21:29

None of them deserve anyone’s vote. Keir Starmer will end up PM, but he’s no great statesman. It’s depressing that this lot are apparently the best we can do as a country. God help us!

YokoOnosBigHat · 23/09/2023 21:30

Labour. Or would vote tactically round here to get the (scumbag) Tory incumbent* out. I hope that this immoral and disgusting government get their arses absolutely handed to them at the upcoming GE, and I hope that it is called as soon as humanly possible. Like, tomorrow soon. Fingers crossed!

*Although, despite claiming their salary, my MP hasn't actually attended parliament for 16 months, since they were arrested on suspicion of crimes including indecent assault and abuse of a position of trust. They're currently on bail and have- unbelievably- been reselected to stand again.

If you want a stateman bring back Liz Truss.

If you want a stateman bring back Liz Truss

Good grief, what a horrible thought. She was about as statesmanlike as my Labrador.

margotmargeaux · 23/09/2023 21:34

Conservative without a doubt

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 23/09/2023 21:34

Rishi did his version of Cameron’s Brexit bribe this week - playing to the climate change deniers (who happen to coincide with those who long for the old days and hate the idea of changing their energy behaviour).

They don’t care what they do in their efforts to stay in power.

Butterkist8 · 23/09/2023 21:36

@jgw1

You do now, surely, realise that the meat tax was never a policy and was never intended to be a policy, same as car sharing. It was never a policy so he has cancelled nothing.

Its all lies. You'd do well to look at neutral political opinion. I'd post two famous clips but I can't seem to do it on here.

Babyroobs · 23/09/2023 21:36

Makes me sad a lot of people saying they will vote Tory and only concerned about their bloody kids private school fees. Honestly people need to open their eyes and engage their brains.

Sodie · 23/09/2023 21:37

Labour always

oistopthatyoucheekysnail · 23/09/2023 21:37

AnonAnonandAriston · 23/09/2023 19:58

I would spoil my ballot. There is genuinely no one I could vote for at the moment

Same

TheFallenMadonna · 23/09/2023 21:37

I'd vote Lib Dem in the hope of a Labour government.

crew2022 · 23/09/2023 21:38

I don't want to vote conservative.
But I don't think Labour will protect women's rights and I don't support Sadiqu Khan.
I just don't know who is worth voting for currently

Exasperatednow · 23/09/2023 21:39

The li z Truss is a statesman comment just shows thst satire is the most fabulous element of British humour

SunnieShine · 23/09/2023 21:39

Not Labour, that's for sure.

liv6 · 23/09/2023 21:39

Conservative without hesitation. Labour trying to get back in with the EU doesn't bear thinking about.

kirinm · 23/09/2023 21:40

Winterday1991 · 23/09/2023 19:59

Probably conservative, I cannot vote Labour as they seem intent on penalising middle earners.

Whereas the conservatives are intent on punishing everyone except the extremely wealthy.
