So the long awaited Sue Gray Report is to be watered down.

Not only watered down but delayed until it won’t be worth scrutiny.
Surely now is the time for MPs to take matters in their own hands and send in their letters of no confidence. Enough is enough. Who is left that can be trusted?

Yes. Absolutely disgraceful to see the Met & Johnson turning this into a whitewash. It looks like the police and government can no longer be trusted.

About time his own MPs got rid of this vile, corrupt and entitled man. And the Met Police should also be cleaned up from top to bottom.....

Hopefully this will be the beginning of the end for the self serving corrupt Tories!

MsFogi · 28/01/2022 18:40

Now is the time for everyone to write to their MP (if Conservative) or local Conservative office/candidate to state how annoyed they are about this and that it will not be forgotten at the next election....

Roselilly36 · 28/01/2022 18:41

As soon as the Met said they were investigating, I knew that the report would be absent, as no doubt it would interfere with the absolutely useless “investigation” as all the parties are longer than 6 mths ago, Boris is in the clear, so what’s new.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 28/01/2022 18:44

It was obvious the minute the Met got involved that the report in full might prejudice any investigation or prosecution.

Thanks for the reminder - I've just emailed my Tory MP. Maybe if they realise their own jobs are at risk, they might consider taking action! They certainly won't act out of any sense of morals

Am I the only person wondering if there's a link between the eternally stalled report and the ongoing investigations into cocaine use at Westminster? (www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-59539589) Sue Gray asked for all the details of staff entering and leaving the building, and my first thought was that if there were dealers coming and going at these alleged parties then they'd be spotted pretty quickly when that data was analysed. Since then: nothing.

I thought that too, because cocaine use cannot be spinned on any way. Or maybe it can? Hmm

Well frankly writing to your MP if he’s a Tory is a total waste of time. You’ll either get a generic apologist email or there won’t be any response.I’ve tried it over the Owen Paterson debacle. They have absolutely no shame.

Version4needsabitofwork · 28/01/2022 19:12

Who knows, with this lot? I do think being off their nuts would explain quite a lot of the mad nonsense and flip-flappery that seems to be going on.

I've written to my MP (opposition) to ask her to ask a question about it in the House.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about this @MythicalBiologicalFennel - it really does seem weird that no one has even questioned that this might be a thing.

I'm thinking it could be the 'entertainment' in a more general sense. Visions of champagne being sipped from lady's navels.... Which would beg all sorts of questions about security risks and foreign powers.
