Three Labour M.Ps are considering defecting to the Conservative Party

After the disaster that was the Labour Party Conference, it is being reported three Labour MPs are looking in to maybe of crossing the commons. This has not happened since 1977 when Reg Prentice crossed the floor Prentice went on to serve as a Health Minister in Margaret Thatcher second term in office.

I wonder who these three are, I suggest that at least one of these, must be a Brexit MP. Thus, perhaps quite remarkably, could Graham Stringer be considering joining the Conservative Party. Liz Kendal though not a Brexiter looks out of place in the current Labour Party so perhaps she might be one . Who else looks out of place in the Labour Party these days.

Previously you could have in recent years imagined the likes of Frank Field, John Mann or Kate Hoey feeling out of place . However, If this is correct and three MPs cross the floor, the "Death of the Labour Party" is nigh.

I doubt it. It’ll be a storm in a teacup, if it happens, which I also doubt.

Will the last Corbynister to leave the party, switch the lights on 😀

How odd. Why would they choose to do that at the precise moment that the Labour party is being turned into the spitting image of the Conservatives anyway?

My guess is it's BS generated from Starmer's office, to make it look like he's under pressure from his MPs to keep moving further to the right (if that's possible). Despite his deeply held convictions toward compromise and unity, of course...

Ffs.

I just want a party I can vote for.

There's definitely a gap in the market for a new party now.

One that can host moderates adults from both sides.

I'd love to see the sensible Labour lot that have been keeping very quiet in recent years to join up with the more reasonable tories / ex tories (looking at you Rory Stewart).

The Lib Dem's can all go to their room to think about what they've done and come back and apologise when they've considered the consequences of their actions frankly.
