Immigration woes

I came to Britain twenty years ago and had Right of Indefinite Stay. Three years ago I was suddenly unemployable because I now needed a Biometric Residents card. I still had Right of Indefinite Stay but couldn't work without the card.

Having paid for and provided a wealth of information proving that I have lived and contributed to society here I could work again . With all the political roller coasting about immigration I felt it was time to become British. I went through the Life in the UK ceremony and became naturalised. They told me that I was immediately able to get a British Passport.

After providing a wealth of evidence for the BRC and naturation I was only required to send my naturalisation certificate and my foreign passport. This application was approved online but I had to provide two British references so I contacted two that have known for twenty years.

So far so good but now I got stuck in a recursive cycle on the Passporcyrt website. It confirmed that my references had identified me then later said I must provide two references to identify me. I submitted their names again and the whole thing started over.

I have no way of contacting a human, I'm at the mercy of a stupid government website. Both text messages and emails are not repliable so I'm absolutely stymied. Please can anyone help me with suggestions?

Old fashioned hand written letter, sent by snail mail.

I'm sorry but I've only just found this thread and was wondering if you finally have resolution?

Yes thanks and now I'm a proper Brit except for the football violence and binge drinking.

I wonder why you took so much time and trouble to become a British citizen if this is your opinion of the rest of us, keep your nasty Stereotyping to yourself please

Oh dear , I wonder which process I need to go through now , I'm worried I may not be a Brit as I've never been to a football match and am tee total ... how rude

So the Home Office mistakenly asked for the same references twice?

Obviously you've sorted it now, but the passport agency has a good live chat system (I used it last year to sort out my daughter's replacement passport) and a call centre too.

OH RIGHT so if I as a white British Citizen made the same joke about people of another colour or nationality it would be a joke would it?, of course it wouldn't so no I will NOT lighten up

What a wit! What a bonus you’ll be.

@Oldsu Thankyou! This has been my point on many occasions! It's not acceptable! We are told here that we are not discriminated against or do not receive any racist abuse, we most certainly do!
I've lived in a house share where I was the only English person you should hear the comments I got.
