Is anyone else watching this tonight? I've seen a couple of clips today on the news, apparently the Tories were only using Boris to stay in Government in 2019 & were going to replace him but from what I saw he is too powerful to remove. I will be interested to know what the reaction is from the government after all this is made public.

Oh I'll watch. As the odious and scorned (maybe men are just too emotional for politics) Cummings tries to wreak revenge on the odious and over-promoted Johnson. Whilst Kuenssberg no doubt will try and suppress the urge to leap to BJ's defence every 30 seconds.

He claims that he knew the right thing to do ALL the time, and everyone else was wrong. Why didn't he speak out at the time? Instead of going to check his eye sight? Hanging on to his five mins of fame.

Quite agree! He is presenting himself as the only one who knew what to do and that he was in power despite never been elected himself! Talk about a bitter man.

I’m no fan of Johnson, but Cummings doesn’t seem to grasp the concept that the people vote for and the Queen appoints Prime Ministers in this country. Not him.

I do believe him, he has not said anything surprising or unusual about Boris so far. Of course DC knew Boris’s weaknesses and strengths but he did what he was paid for and he wasn’t paid for love and fine feelings.
And DC is not a politician so don’t want to be popular, he can be openly selfish.

I have been on another thread about this, I am enjoying it enormously whilst also being absolutely at just how completely fucked up this government, and specifically Johnson, are.

So much to say about this whole debacle but one thing I did notice was a very spiteful comment he made in relation to Carrie. He said something along the lines of she wanted to get rid of this intelligent young woman who was working there. Carrie is herself a young woman but the implication was that she was threatened by this even younger woman. The misogyny was palpable. He could have just said that Carrie wanted rid of someone (same as he wanted rid of BJ) but no, he had to make sure he described her as young, as an added twist of the knife. Vile man.

No but it's pretty childish to resort to name calling and cheap digs. There are far better ways to get your point across, especially if you're a so-called genius.

His smirking was pathetic, calling ministers idiots, duffers and useless was petty, he seemed pretty happy to work with them all at the time, why didnt he just resign and speak out earlier. He didnt had the balls to name all his allies who wanted Boris out after a few days. Horrid little man, he tried to change the system but it's too big for him, he reminds me of someone else whining and trying to rewrite history.
