What does everyone think of the candidates? Do you know who you are voting for? I’m very undecided - I voted for Burnham last time but I’m having grave doubts about the Labour Party as a whole. Curious to hear other peoples thoughts. Do you think he has done a good job? I was impressed with how he argued for Manchester getting better funding before going into tier 3 but I’m not sure we are seeing, in my outlying bit of GM, the benefits of an elected mayor.

I was really impressed with the negotiation before we went into Tier 3 as well, I will most likely vote for him again tbh. I'm not a staunch Labor voter but would not vote Tory, Reform or English democrats' as their values do not generally align with mine.

Feels like the Lib Dems have fielded a week candidate again, its a shame as they are often very good in local politics.

The Conservative candidate had some promo videos done with Priti Patel backing her and trying to blame Labor for the lack of funding to the Police, I couldn't believe my eyes, how she said it with a straight face I will never know.

*weak :/

Wow! I haven’t really seen any promotional stuff other than the booklet we got on the post. We don’t watch tv (only streamed) so don’t get ads etc. Which means no party political broadcasts (if they even do those any more!)

This Ad was on Facebook. The other candidates may have done them too but I only really noticed this because I was wondering what the evil witch was up to now :p So I guess from that point of view the advert worked as I stopped scrolling!

I'm voting for Nick Buckley. I saw him interviewed on Triggernometry last year and liked him from that, when I saw he was running I thought I'd support him. I don't imagine he'll actually win as I doubt many people know who he is. He's worked for the last 20 years to support young people most in need round Greater Manchester.

Nick seems like a really decent bloke from his past achievements, but then he stands for the reforme party who want to axe the BBC, a major employer in GM, and magically lower tax and increase economic growth, . Also lots of 'control our borders' 'freedom of speach' 'anti woke' type sound bites. As Mumsnet says 'hes told you who he is. Listen'.

From what I've taken 'axe the BBC' to mean, is that he feels we shouldn't be paying a TV licence for them, by law. I don't have an issue with that to be honest. A lot of people don't follow the politics of the BBC and it wouldn't bother me if they brought in advertising to pay for themselves. But I respect that others won't agree with that. I also agree with his other "anti woke" views.
