I was discussing with someone about dna and genetic testing in the U.S. and told her that even before home dna test, people were storing dna (and giving it away to researchers) from newborn heel prick tests and few other tests we used to have such as blood test for marriage licenses. We were wondering what is the policy for each countries on dna storage and if they can opt out and have it destroyed. Here is an article of what I mean: www.gov.scot/publications/guthrie-cards-scotland-ethical-legal-social-issues/pages/3/
I know without dna research, I would have lost my kids due to being RH neg and they are Rh positive. So I have a mixed feelings toward this. But we want to know who is better at handling dna privacy when it come to healthcare system
