Priti Patel - gaslighting or being silenced herself?

It took me reading a few news sources before I could work out what had happened. Doesn't her response to opposition MPs contradict her own silencing of them?

I hate racism of all kinds. It’s no justification to be racist because you disagree with someone’s politics. It’s quite fashionable in some circles to sneer at politicians on the opposite benches, but throwing casual racism into the mix is despicable.

The letter was an awful idea, the first paragraph just badly written. The use of the term very real racism as compared to what not so real racism. I also found it disrespectful comparing the UK police to the US again badly written.

I read the letter as, "You're being a BAME politician all wrong". I'm no Tory but Priti is entitled to feel stung. It was a horrible letter, full of bigotry and unkindness.

I am truly at a loss at Labour and their MPs. I feel I should support them as a working class woman but I just can't. I spoiled my ballot last December

I disagree with Priti Patel about most things, but she is spot on in highlighting the left’s double standards about race.

The attitudes of sections of the left toward BAME people who do not conform to patronising stereotypes & preconceptions about how they are ‘supposed’ to think or behave are, in themselves, racist. Also, imagine the uproar on the left if the Mail or Torygraph had depicted Diane Abbott as a fat cow with a ring through its nose....

Hate just about everything she says and does. Disagree with just everything that comes out of her mouth.

Plus she is a proven liar.

But I think she is treated with absolute sexism and racism. I hate all this "her experience is wrong" talk. Absolutely wrong IMO and those that spout it make me very uncomfortable.
