Boris won't give up the fishermen, Sally.

It's a symbolic thing. The EU know that, that's partly why they're trying to prise our fishing waters from us (as well as the fact they are lucrative).

Boris knows it too. He's playing hardball. Sovereignty comes first.

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:07

Thanks Lily, I need ALL the drinks today. Sadly though, they will have to be Mocktails... Dry Jan completed. Now to complete dry Feb! 🤦🏻‍♀️😬😂

hospitalityinspector · 01/02/2020 23:08

My question to Sir Static would be what does he mean when he says that the problem with their campaign was that they didn't squash down (or words to that effect) the Tories' Get Brexit Done' soundbite.

I've heard him repeat this a few times now.
How could they squash it down? With something catchier? Get 2nd referendum done? Remain or remain lite? 2nd Referendum and campaign against it?

I can't be arsed to be ignored by him though.

“Boris knows it too. He's playing hardball. Sovereignty comes first.”

🤞🏻 🙏 🕯

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:09

Well, I've got the recipe for a very convincing non-alcoholic mojito, Epic, as well as a Virgin Mary and a non-alcoholic Classic Dmitri. Speaking as a teetotallers.

What would you like?

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:10

#IgnoreDemocracy?

That would have made for a really catchy soundbite! Honest too! 😉😂

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:11

All of them please Lily, all of them. 😂

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:11

#BestOfThree?

We could be speechwriters for Sir Static. Grin

WeSavedSallySally · 01/02/2020 23:12

Yes they are symbolic.

Again, repeating, so many of us were moved by the plight of the fishermen : thrown into sharp relief by geldof on his yacht screeching obscenities at them.

Funny really, it wouldn't have been as memorable or as poignant without geldof on the yacht.

Talking of the yacht no one has mentioned Rachel Johnson on one of msm night of brexit talking about her children's futures robbed.

I find her very very odd....

hospitalityinspector · 01/02/2020 23:13

Ha Epic, yes good one. Wink

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:14

Rachel Johnson?

Severe case of sibling jealousy.

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:14

“Again, repeating, so many of us were moved by the plight of the fishermen : thrown into sharp relief by geldof on his yacht screeching obscenities at them.”

God yes. It was so long ago now, that it’s easy to forget ‘moments’ like that. What a colossal knob is Bob.

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:15

“no one has mentioned Rachel Johnson”

Good enough for me. 😂

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:16

"no one has mentioned Rachel Johnson”

Grin

And that's her biggest gripe.

WeSavedSallySally · 01/02/2020 23:17

Can anyone really be bothered to engage with kier sir static?

#squash democracy.

#squash Tina from Workington in her social club with her low un skilled job (according to another pp)

#squash people we deem unworthy of the vote.

#bring back mao re education sessions until people see sense.

WeSavedSallySally · 01/02/2020 23:18

😂 Good point, excuse me for bringing her name up.

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:21

I wouldn't mind but I've spent all day scrubbing the mould off the north wall of the cellar. Mildew, I think, or a close facsimile. And now the damn thing has appeared again.

I'll get the bleach out again.

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:22

Mumsnet Lily. Zoflora. Remember? 😂

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:23

You're right, Epic.

This is Mumsnet after all.

Grin
EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:24

I shower in it exactly 5 times a day. No more. No less. It’s the only way to be considered a ‘correct’ Mumsnetter! 😂

SingingLily · 01/02/2020 23:25

And don't forget to use three towels.

And change your bedding every hour.

Grin
hospitalityinspector · 01/02/2020 23:26

Do you add it to your thrice daily towel wash too Epic?

WeSavedSallySally · 01/02/2020 23:26

Singing, mould is not something to be messed with.

Technically it shouldn't be scrubbed.

It will release spores into the air...

EpicIndividual · 01/02/2020 23:26

😱😱😱

Will Zoflora save the world? From the 🧟‍♀️ Mega Zombie Flu pandemic? Someone needs to contact the government. Mumsnet had the answer all along!

SilverySurfer · 01/02/2020 23:26

BBC News showed a piece about Rachel Johnson having dinner with Nigel Farage - needless to say neither persuaded the other to change their opinion.
