What do you want to happen in Parliament today?

I am finding it difficult. On one hand Brexit fatigue is off the scale. But then the thought of endless, money consuming trade talks while our businesses pay tariffs is another soul destroying scenario.
So do I hope for a vote in favour? Or do I hope the vote is against the deal and an extension gained with the sole purpose of another deciding vote by the public?

Is the fatigue allowing us to accept a temporary relief but with no future certainty? I am not sure. What do you think?

I want a second referendum!

Bobbybobbins · 19/10/2019 07:48

Same as you OP, I don't know! I voted remain but Brexit fatigue is real.

Pommes · 19/10/2019 07:48

I want... exactly what you said to happen. I would love a second referendum but my least favourite option is a No Deal exit, agreeing today's deal would make both scenarios less likely... I think?

StealthPolarBear · 19/10/2019 07:49

I keep wanting it to be over but then reading posts by sensible people which say this is too important to wish for a quick solution. For me there is no deal better than the deal we're currently in and for as long as there's a hope of retaining that, that's what I'll hope for.

StealthPolarBear · 19/10/2019 07:51

And when tm had deals on the table people said the negotiations and arrangements were still to come. Presumably this is the same.

fartingrainbows · 19/10/2019 07:51

Sadly I want them to agree the deal and get on with it. I'm sick of the whole thing now, and sick of living in fear of an unknown future. So I want the deal to go through, Brexit to happen then at least we'll know what we're dealing with.

And we all realise, I hope, that this was Boris' plan all along. Mess around and posture until we're so scared of the future that we'll agree to whatever crappy deal he serves up!!

StealthPolarBear · 19/10/2019 07:52

Tbh I thought no deal was his plan

KatherineJaneway · 19/10/2019 07:53

Agree the deal and leave.

salcombebabe · 19/10/2019 08:13

I want there to be a second referendum too, there is so much we didn’t know when the original referendum was held and I think the vote result could well be different this time. And definitely not leave with no deal!!

Samosaurus · 19/10/2019 08:19

Second referendum would be my ideal. Let people vote on the deal vs remain, now people actually know what the two scenarios will look like. I don't hold out much hope though.

The deal Boris is offering looks like a very hard Brexit to me, so anyone know why Farage is against it?

HappydaysArehere · 19/10/2019 08:56

What is worrying me is the chance that unless trade talks work out by the end of 2020 we will leave with no deal. That is part of the agreement. Could this be the long game that Boris and Cummings are playing? It is known that Cummings has wanted no deal all along. As for Johnson, can you believe a word he says.

On the bright side once we leave the EU all the new 25% tariffs on our exports to the USA courtesy of the EU will disappear.

HappydaysArehere · 22/10/2019 09:30

My friend who was adamant she wanted to leave now wants a referendum so she can change her vote. This is common as I hear people on LBC complaining they can’t change their minds now the lies have been exposed.

Take the deal and leave.

Second referendum would be a disaster imo. I'm not at all convinced the results would be any different and I am increasingly concerned by the divisions Brexit has created which a second referendum would make worse. It feels very tribal from both sides and that is dangerous.
