Yes and yes

Calyx72 · 05/09/2019 22:43

Yes and yes.

(Just signed the petition asking for impartial international observers at the next one. Not a conspiracy theorist but I do believe in media bias against Scottish independence and the observers monitor for this before the vote. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/269150 if anyone in either camp is interested Smile)

theskywasallviolet · 06/09/2019 06:42

Yes to the media bias! I couldn’t believe how bad the bbc was for it last time, will definitely sign that petition!

@Calyx72 thanks for that petition. I’ll pass it on to my OH.

cdtaylornats · 06/09/2019 08:56

No and no

If brexit is like jumping off a cliff what is the sense in stabbing yourself all the way down, just to make sure.

StinkyWizleteets · 06/09/2019 09:07

Yes and yes.

cdtaylornats · 07/09/2019 15:14

The print media is allowed to be biased. I'll sign a petition for vetting publications like the white paper the SNP produced that was pure fantasy.

Nyx · 08/09/2019 16:08

Yes and yes. If Brexit is jumping off a cliff, Scottish independence is a parachute or in fact a mountain rescue team

SpangledBoots · 08/09/2019 16:10

No and no.

nearlyfinished1moreyear · 08/09/2019 16:13

No and no

tempresistance · 08/09/2019 16:14

I was a no, now swaying towards a yes but not without serious reservations. We need a lot more information on what it means for Scotland than what was provided last time.

Nyx · 09/09/2019 12:04

Temp, info is always good. Would be great to have some - any! - info on what a no vote will mean for Scotland as well. If people had known that voting no to independence in 2014 would have led to all the chaos we've had since then - starting with EVEL the day after, all the broken promises, and especially now - wonder how many would have changed their vote.

Looks like the status quo has been chewed up and spit out.

LookDontTeuch · 09/09/2019 12:15

nope and damn, no!

In all of my personal and professional spheres, there is no option where severing our many and varied ties with the rest of the UK doesn't make the impact of severing from the EU worse.

The political direction of the UK is horrendous at the moment but you would have to persuade me that this direction of travel is permanent. I also feel extremely strongly that I still want a voice in the parliament which will continue to heavily impact any Scottish decision-making and the prospect of that representation being taken from me makes me quite cross!

If the starting point were that we were independent but heavily influenced by WM without any representation, then I would expect that there would be protest and outcry at that. And it would be justified.

Nyx · 09/09/2019 13:42

I don't understand how we would be heavily influenced by WM if independent. Do you mean by using the pound? If so, I have news for you. We have absolutely no influence on UK monetary policy as it is. We have practically no influence on anything in the UK as it is. Look at Brexit. Our civil servants have been banned from attending any negotiations.

Independence would give us the means to steer our own course.

Just how far would you go before you decide how temporary or otherwise any chaos will be?

Seriously anyone who thinks WM is doing or will do a better job - at anything, at this point! - than we could or would do for ourselves needs to open their eyes.

And we want to be good neighbors. Not all ties need to be cut off irrevocably for ever.

DowntonCrabby · 09/09/2019 13:45

No and now YES

Brooklynninenineninetynine · 09/09/2019 13:49

Yes and yes

I'm interested to know why you've gone from yes to no @Jodri. I've never heard of anyone changing their mind in that direction

Doubletrouble99 · 18/09/2019 15:04
