On Guido Fawkes today, clips from today's debate on antisemitism.

Ruth Smeeth and John Mann, both Labour MPs, talking about the anti-semitic abuse received by them and their families, sometimes from within the party, from Momentum or hard left JC supporters.

Listening to both almost had me in tears. Who, in this day and age, could think that this is acceptable behaviour?

If you thought the accusations against the labour party were overblown, please listen to what these two MPs have endured.

I agree with you. This shouldn't be happening at all but it's even more shocking that this is happening within the same party/supporters - shouldn't they be working together?

For these MPs to make such a stand as this they must have felt very threatened and unsupported.

My DD was called a 'F*cking Jew' in the park by a random stranger. My closest friend was threatened by someone from a car and told 'Corbyn will sort you out, Jew bitch'. The Jewish community has always known who Jeremy Corbyn is and who his friends are. My husband stands on security outside our synagogue and, when he puts on his stab vest, is ever mindful that nothing will save him in a Copenhagen style attack. That was committed by the same people who are Corbyn's 'friends'.

If I can get one message across to MNers, it is this- All the letters in the Guardian from groups like Jews For Jeremy, Labour Against the Witchhunt, Academics for Corbyn, JVL (actually created by Corbyn), IJV , Jewdas etc are all signed by the same people. They may have some Jewish heritage but they play no active role in the Jewish community and only announce their Jewishness as a device to denigrate and dismiss the actual Jewish community. We call them AsAJews- as in , As a Jew.....This is important because what Corbyn and his cronies are doing is trying to create the impression that there are 'good Jews' he can work with. The scant handful of anti-Israel Jews, the anti-semitic Jews. They are unrepresentative of us and abhor all contact with us.
And these are the people Corbyn choses to talk to.

My MIL went to visit her parents' grave in a Jewish cemetery recently and was told to F* off back where she came from by some locals. I'm sure they would be horrified to be thought of as racists, of course.....

Same here. I cannot put into words how mortified I would be if someone thought that I was associated in any way with abuse like that. Corbyn's response, time and time again, is utterly pathetic. He is a disgrace. I feel sick for the Labour MPs, Jewish or not, who are experiencing this type of abuse. They must feel totally abandoned by their so-called 'leader'.

I was planning to hold my nose and vote for Labour on the 3rd May, but after this, and the fiasco of the all-women shortlists, I really don't think I can. I am absolutely appalled by Corbyn

Why? Just why?
Jews are just people. I can't understand why anyone with any brain cells can consider that they are worthy of being treated differently to anyone else.
Why?

I feel the same. In many ways, the local LP's policies are closest to my own views and I had been thinking I would vote for them. Not any more.
