What did Trump mean by "North Korea just stated that it is in the final stages of developing a nuclear weapon capable of reaching parts of the U.S. It won't happen!"?
Was he deriding North Korea's manufacturing capability - which has been somewhat unreliable, but may not remain so, or was he saying that North Korea would be stopped?

It's very hard to tell what he ever means with such short statements. He's had an 'interesting' Christmas with his tweets. He promised that if he got elected he would hardly ever use social media. Funny sort of restraint he's showing.

That Kellyanne person is as slippery as a slippery thing. If the best she can do is to say to look at what's in his heart and not what comes out his mouth, there is no hope!

Someone's tweeted to her that she's a 'gansters moll'... Grin Grin and lots of this sort of thing.

*Gangsters moll...

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 11/01/2017 13:43

Shameless placemarking, I'm afraid.

Have quickly scanned the Buzzfeed documents. I love how the Fart is twittering about how "unfair" the publication of this story is. As someone else noted upthread: you live by the sword, you die by the sword. I am not sure what to make of Wikileaks saying the dossier is rubbish - are they honest brokers in this?

Lweji · 11/01/2017 13:45

I don't know.
But they wouldn't know either. Not every secret document in the world goes through their hands, presumably.

qwerty232 · 11/01/2017 15:30

Wikileaks consists of some blokes who think they're in a Bourne film. They need to get over themselves a bit.

There are all sorts of valid criticisms of Obama, Clinton etc, but the idea that there is this line with all the establishment, Atlanticist bad guys on one side and a noble, wrongly maligned axis of Putin, Assad and Iran on the other is conspiracy theorist bullshit.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 15:40

noble, wrongly maligned axis of Putin, Assad and Iran on the other

Now, there's a joke.

qwerty232 · 11/01/2017 15:44

Indeed. There's this unholy alliance of the loony left and loony right at the moment who all think Putin is an OK guy, rather than the dictatorial butcher he really is.

'That Kellyanne person is as slippery as a slippery thing.'

Disagree!

As Trump's senior campaign manager she did a brilliant job. Steady, calm and cool. Watch some of her interviews.

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 10:40

Watch the full KellyAnne Conway, CNN Anderson Cooper HEATED Interview.

Never seen Anderson look so rattled. KellyAnne was great!

'That Kellyanne person is as slippery as a slippery thing.'

It looks like you actually agree, then. Grin

I think the interviewers almost enjoy watching her wriggle out of a direct question. It's a master class in slipperiness.

Lweji · 16/01/2017 10:54

Never seen Anderson look so rattled. KellyAnne was great!

It's also similar to what emotional abusers do. It's the normal, rational, person who gets rattled.

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:11

'It's also similar to what emotional abusers do. It's the normal, rational, person who gets rattled.'

Rubbish what a thing to say! Watch it on YouTube.

Anderson is the established powerful CNN anchor man on 11 million a year being taken down by calm, unflustered Kelly Anne who has only worked for Trump since August last year!

The rules are clearly changing for the better .. what worked before doesn't now for the powerful CNN.

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:17

'I think the interviewers almost enjoy watching her wriggle out of a direct question. It's a master class in slipperiness.'

It wasn't that she was wriggling out of direct questions, she just didn't play the game of the anchor man clinging to irrelevant minutia to win a point. She didn't join in with that and just said what needed to be said. In the end he looked like a child.

Lweji · 16/01/2017 11:21

Inkanta.

Right at the start of that clip, Anderson asked very specifically if it was true or not that CNN had not published the full report, and so that what Trump said was misleading. Kellyanne simply refused to acknowledge from that start that CNN had not published the report. It just went downhill from there. On her part.

Yes, she remains calm. But that's not to say she's not lying, twisting, avoiding, deflecting and so on. Typical strategies by politicians (and she does it masterfully) and abusers.

Lweji · 16/01/2017 11:22

You say minutia, I say facts. Grin

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:29

'Right at the start of that clip, Anderson asked very specifically if it was true or not that CNN had not published the full report'

And she repeated many times that she had an issue with them linking to Buzz Fees two pages. Her focus was on their unethical and unprincipled way of working and the fact that THEY in actual fact were being slippery about their actions. She was questioning them - and making Anderson and CNN account for their fake news!

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:32

'You say minutia, I say facts'

I say minutia - because there are bigger issues going on here that CNN get away with. He was about scoring a small point - and she wasn't interested.

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:38

If are any lurkers on here, who are interested to see a small woman take on an anchor man, watch the interview on YouTube. It's in three parts and I think very significant in terms of watching a woman handle a powerful anchor man, but also in how this looks for the future of CNN if they continue to operate this way.

Lweji · 16/01/2017 11:41

What are the bigger issues?

What BuzzFeed two pages?

BuzzFeed published the full report. Not the two pages that were allegedly presented to Obama and Trump and that CNN said had been presented, but that they did not show.
Anderson says that as far as he knows CNN didn't link to any BuzzFeed news or report.

Anderson points out that it's wrong to conflate the two reports and he's right. And that CNN can't be hold responsible for what other news outlets show.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/01/2017 11:44

Why use diminishing terms for her like 'small woman' and terms that magnify him like 'powerful'? After all she has landed a top white house job.

Anyway back to tweets. After all, this is a thread about his tweets of which there have been many.

According to his interview with Gove, he won't be giving up his tweeting when he becomes president. Oh dear.

Lweji · 16/01/2017 11:46

The "little woman" replies "It's just fake news"
to Anderson saying that CNN hasn't reported on anything that was published by BuzzFeed, and they will not discuss it, certainly not on his show.
What was that? Is that brilliant taking on a powerful anchorman or just wriggling out of actually addressing the issue?

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:46

'Anderson says that as far as he knows CNN didn't link to any BuzzFeed news or report.'

She said they did and she was reading it - she said she had it with her for the interview.

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:54

She accused CNN of dishonesty by saying two specific pages had been sent to Trump when they had not .....

so it went on and on and on ...

and on ...

Lweji · 16/01/2017 11:57

Anderson: "My job is not to have a great relationship with you. (...) the job of the press is not to be buddy buddies and hang out socially with everyone"
Grin

Also, I don't know why that was labelled as HEATED, or why you think it was a great victory by Kellyanne.
I thought it was a very calm interview, and measured and respectful on both parts. Kellyanne's wriggling is just expected and normal for her, as for most politicians and those trying to defend the indefensible.

Inkanta · 16/01/2017 11:59

'Why use diminishing terms for her like 'small woman' and terms that magnify him like 'powerful'?'

Because LWEGI refers to KellyAnne - as an emotional abuser!! - "It is also similar to what emotional abusers do. It's the normal, rational, person who gets rattled."

KellyAnne is an emotional abuser - taking on the multi millionaire Anderson?!
