Trump vs Clinton Round 3. Probably the biggest debate ever.

Oct 20th 2 am UK time.

Last chance for the Establishment to stop the Trump surge in the polls.
World leaders will be watching, Establishments will be tuning in on the edge of their seats in trepidation.

People will be laughing, diving into the popcorn and knocking back the alcohol.

Round 3. Rock'n'roll.

'He's unbelievably dim if this debate is anything to go by'

That is his style.
He likes to disarm his opponents by playing dumb.
It is an acquired taste.

Yep, she won this one and the first one. They both ballsed up the 2nd debate.

claig · 20/10/2016 03:45

Trump is leaving the hall, not going to the spin room.

Bad sign, he usually likes the spin room.

Fox saying this was his best debate, but I agree with you Ninja, he was not as smart as Hillary and she beat him.

What the hell Farage was advising him, God only knows.

DioneTheDiabolist , which one do you want to win?

Hilary wasn't that impressive & I think she would have struggled with a more clued up opponent. But, faced with trump she clearly won on the basis that she knew some, you know, facts n stuff.

'I think she would have struggled with a more clued up opponent. But, faced with trump she clearly won on the basis that she knew some, you know, facts n stuff.'

Yes, I agree. He waffled the same old lines. It would have needed someone cleverer like Rubio to win. That was his last chance because from here on in, the media will slaughter him for the next 20 odd days.

It won't be easy now, but he is still in it.

I have no influence either way and will survive regardless. I distrust politicians and capitalists. This is a Simpson's Halloween House of Horror election: Kang or Kodus?

elastamum · 20/10/2016 04:44

We have just been watching this in a bar in Washington DC. From where we were sitting Hilary destroyed him on pretty much every issue. She was sharp, on message and he came across as rambling and almost incoherent on any policy issues.

Trump was clueless and at times almost unhinged. All Hilary had to do was stick to her message and not engage with his wildest accusations, which she did beautifully.

Thanks for your last post claig: just got up and it's great to have an honest upsum

BigChocFrenzy · 20/10/2016 06:52

Trump makes Clinton look good.
That's quite an achievement

WinchesterWoman · 20/10/2016 07:02

I thought you liked her

fourmummy · 20/10/2016 07:16

Missed it again! Haven't really caught up with your posts. Doesn't sound exciting.

BigChocFrenzy · 20/10/2016 07:45

No - like many others I suspect - it's just that I prefer a very uninspiring machine politician to a fascist.
Someone wrote its like being given a choice of 2 airplane meals:
. plain cold chicken, limp lettuce and soggy roll
. vs glass splitters in faeces

WinchesterWoman · 20/10/2016 07:54

Clonton is more of a fascist way more
She despises people

Mistigri · 20/10/2016 07:55

WW if your question up thread was about bets for Clinton already paying out, yes, its true: blog.paddypower.com/politics/2016/10/18/paddy-power-pay-out-hillary-clinton/

It's not unusual for bookies to pay out ahead of elections - even in 2012 they paid out early on Obama, and the polls were not nearly so decisive. It unusual for them to pay out three weeks early, but at the same time, there is no historical precedent for a candidate overcoming a 7 point deficit. Even a modest (say 1-2 point) post-debate move to Trump would still have left Clinton with a lead that exceeds the margin of polling error. And the final debate will definitely NOT lead to any move to Trump, because he fucked up yet again on probably the single most important question (about whether he would accept the result).

Clinton still has to get her voters out, but she has a decent ground organisation and Trump has almost none at all.

BigChocFrenzy · 20/10/2016 08:05

WW Despising people and being snooty is not fascist

Lweji · 20/10/2016 08:05

Clonton is more of a fascist way more. She despises people

That is your initial pretence of being neutral, not knowing very well who to choose, out the window.

If Trump wins, he apparently plans to lock up his opponent.
He'd probably squash this (maybe his run for Prez is to squash the current civil cases against him too)

Federal Court: Alleged Rape of 13 Yo in 1994

https://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/316341058/Donald-Trump-Jeffrey-Epstein-Rape-Lawsuit-and-Affidavitss_

This lawsuit filing in federal court seeks to override statutes of limitation. Federal Judge Ronnie Abrams scheduled a court hearing for 16 December 2016

Jane Doe v. Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey E. Epstein
Case No. 1:16-cv-04642, U.S. District Court for Southern New York, filed June 20, 2016

Sworn statement from the plaintiff:
"Defendant Trump tied me to a bed,...and then proceeded to forcibly rape me...violently striking me in the face with his open hand and screaming that he would do whatever he wanted."

"Immediately following this rape, Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump's sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I would be physically harmed if not killed."

Sworn statement from a witness;
"personally witnessed the Plaintiff being forced to perform various sexual acts with Donald Trump and Mr. Epstein. Both Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein were advised that she was 13 years old."

"personally witnessed Mr. Trump...[and]...Mr. Epstein physically threaten the life and well-being of the Plaintiff if she ever revealed any details of the physical and sexual abuse...."

Lweji · 20/10/2016 08:14

she would have struggled with a more clued up opponent

I wonder, though. I think she's been restraining herself considering her opponent.
She doesn't want to be seen to appear too smart or to crush him.
This was the time for some decisive blows and from the little I've seen of it (the abortion question), she went clean and straight for the jugular. She needed to own up to some policies, not defend herself.
On that question, Trump was stupid to go for the fully developed foetus, but he's not against abortion in his gut and I'd bet he's "encouraged" a few women to do it.

Lweji · 20/10/2016 08:17

Yes, Choc. He'd risk being the first president to be impeached before reaching the WH.

(Although HC may not be completely free on that one)

ZuleikaDobson · 20/10/2016 09:22

Backstage Establishment makeup artist. Seems like they have just slapped the makeup on Trump with a trowel. He should have seen that trick coming.

Isn't he capable of looking in a mirror? Or does he (justifiably) avoid the sight of his face?

ZuleikaDobson · 20/10/2016 09:27

The general view seems to be that Trump put the final nail in the coffin by saying he wouldn't respect the result of the election if it goes against him. Refusing to accept the cornerstone of the American constitution, the democratic process, is not going to go down well, and in effect he's signalling that he thinks he's lost anyway.

Mistigri · 20/10/2016 10:03

she would have struggled with a more clued up opponent

She might well have struggled against an opponent with better oratorical skills (as she did against Obama) but Clinton's strength is her grasp of policy issues and her attention to detail. If this hasn't come across, it's because policy has been on the back burner during the debates, and because Trump's lack of understanding of policy issues and inability to stay on-topic have prevented any in-depth debate.

Mistigri · 20/10/2016 10:06

She despises people

I wouldn't blame her tbh. If the US presidential election and the Brexit fiasco have changed anything for me, it's to destroy any patience with stupid people who think their opinions count as much as those of people who actually know what they are talking about.

AnonymousAmerican · 20/10/2016 10:34

Trump is done. A bad Hombre beaten by a Nasty woman.
