How long till all schools are academies?

Our school is a local authority one. We're doing okay, Ofsted coming up soon but hopefully will survive that.

Just wondering if the government has any timescale for changing remaining LA schools to academies. Wondering, as a governor, whether it would be better to jump rather than be pushed, and if that would give us more say over the whole process.

I think it's 5 years.

I'd wait. There are changes in the wind, let's just hope they come in time. It would be more effective to protest against privatising education, by whatever means you can. 'You' as a group, as well as an individual, have all the schools and the councils totally lost their voices? We all need to mobilise a bit more, as a nation.

Keep the faith!
